buy 20/30 round magazines get either a psop or a optic mount/optic of your choice. you can have a battle rifle with a thumbhole stock or get the $40 stock adapter to let it take standard ar furniture. also get a mussel device the thread protector can be removed relatively easily.

Downside: no double stack or drum magazines so you're stuck with single stack fives and tens.

Upside: Russkie optics come pre-configured for 54r so it's easier to scope.

while the innards of Super Vepr are that of an AK, it does not feel like one from the outside. I've seen even some NY-legal versions being made out of these, using traditional rifle-stock design, featureless barrels, and shorter mags.

The receiver is stepped instead of slant or straight cut as well so a standard Vepr won't fit into a Super Vepr stock.
