Did I just happen to handle a shitty CZ? The gun itself felt excellent in my hands, and was phenomenally easy to snap up and line up the sights, but my god that trigger felt more squishy and less predictable than my PTR-91.

It doesn't break "wherever." If you pay attention, it breaks in the same place every time, as do all triggers in all handguns. However, you are not wrong to observe that the CZ 75 trigger is dogshit. Actually, a common complaint of many polymer striker-fired pistols is that when you pull through the break, there is "creep" before the trigger actually breaks. That is from large clearances on the sear and intended as a safety measure, but is a hindrance to the target shooter. The CZ 75 has even more creep than Glocks, and, no, it wasn't just that particular gun. All CZ 75s are like that. If you want to shoot a nice DA/SA pistol, try a Sig sometime.

No, I've had two 75s (a standard B and a stainless) and both the triggers were like that. A good deal of takeup, and a spongy break. I've heard the new "Omega" is even worse, though.

Haven't felt much better on SIG P-series pistols. The breaks are cleaner but still a lot of takeup and spongy triggers in general. DA on them and CZ stacks pretty bad too.

I have an HK P2000 now. Despite all the shit people talk about HK's triggers, it's better than the CZs and SIGs I've used. DA is smooth and doesn't stack at all, SA still has a lot of takeup (same travel as a Glock) but breaks really clean, no squish, and is light at 4.5lb. Reset is pretty long, but still better than a SIG without the SRT.

From what I've seen, modern "combat" DA/SA pistols run the gamut from dogshit to awesome, with most being average - below average. The manufacturers these days just don't put a lot of effort into a really nice SA pull when the gun is meant as a weapon.

I always hated Glocks. They just looked ugly, their fan base is cancerous, the entire glock perfection thing. Then I got a FN 45 and hated it. It felt bad in my hand (and I got huge hands). It was picky about ammo. I ended up selling it to some jerk off i've found on a local forum. Was going to buy an xDM5.25 in 45 but my local dealer kept telling to fondle the Glock 41. I ended up going with the 41, tossed a connecter in it and a lighter plunger spring. Gotta say it grew on me and now I like it. Like it so much i'm gonna pick up a Glock 40. Still like my M&P9 a lot and don't see myself switching to Glock for my 9mm shooting but for 45 and 10mm? I'm a Glock guy now.

The pride of ownership instilled by a Glock is watching everybody else try to justify how their special snowflake gun is objectively better -- and failing.

There are weak points to Glock.

Objectively, SIGs have the best takedown method from a safety standpoint because they force you to unload the gun first. Plenty of people ND when taking Glocks down when they fail to check the chamber, and it's enough of an issue to where many LE agencies were writing "must be able to take down without pulling the trigger" into their contract requirements for a time.

The ejection is inconsistent, often weak, and in some cases will cause malfunctions with weaker ammo. BTF still exists. In line with their corporate philosophy, Glock refuses to acknowledge the issue and if they ever do they'll call it an upgrade rather than a recall -- and this is despite the fact that all it takes to fix it is a slight change in extractor geometry and perhaps a slightly lowered ejection port. The videos of the 17M being fired clearly show BTF will continue to be an issue -- seven years after it first popped up.

Despite muh ergonomics being horribly overblown by autists who don't shoot their guns all that often, they don't fit everybody's hand -- especially with the finger grooves. Why they spaced them the way they did on the G19 is beyond me. As a result, the gun causes a callous to form on the middle finger. The block shape can cause issues with trigger reach for those with smaller hands, especially in .45/10mm.

The .40 and .357 guns still have too much slide velocity, and Glock still seems to think that putting a stronger magazine spring in the gun and using a recoil spring that has to be changed every 3000 rounds is the answer. They also remain hit-or-miss with rail-mounted flashlights.

But, the above issues are minor when put next to the fun of watching people who don't shoot guns very much (or at all) get emotionally invested in the matter of Glock vs. (snowflake).

South African Glock 19 owner here, I bought it primarily because it's easy to get parts and accessories for it here as opposed to other brands like Sig and H&K. (CZ is very common here as well, almost got a PO-7 duty but I got a gen 3 G19 for less)

I've met some glockfags at the range. They operate in packs while rapid firing their pistols with the wrong grip and stance then grin with "pride" when they managed a 40cm grouping at 5 meters. They are insufferable idiots who burn through shitloads of ammo while accomplishing nothing.

I own a Glock 27, carry a G22 for work and own two different kinds of revolvers, a custom 1911 and a salt-pistol. The only thing I woukd never buy is a Hi-point.

I shot a glock 19 once. It felt like cheap tupperware, and I hated touching it, HOWEVER, I shot tighter groups than I think I ever have.

They're alright.
