Thing is people tend to underestimate it's lethality because it's commonly known as a small game hunting, fun target shooting or youth marksmen training caliber and treat it as a toy gun.

I mean hell, normal CC HP 22lr can get just as much penetration through an FBI standard Gell Block as 9mm or .45 acp and some hunting loads like CCI Stingers, Velocitors or Segmented bullets can leave nasty permanent wound channels.

It's just that most soft body armor, or plates and hard cover will protect you as .22lr has little chance for penetration and can even be fucked over by strong winds.

To unprotected flesh it can do damage and even have chance of going deep and being a bitch to operate on, but as long as you were not shot in critical area, most doctors can save your life on the operating table.
