What's the best legal way for self defense in city parks?

I was in a nature park walking the trails and turn a corner and suddenly two of these fuckers are staring me down and start to growl before I can even come to a full stop. If their idiot owner hadn't appeared a second later to regroup them I probably could've been mauled. They were not on leashes and I had nothing to protect myself with. I do own a tiny bottle of pepper spray but it wouldn't have done jack to these things, assuming I even had time to get it out. Am I going to have to get a conceal carry permit just to do my nature walks? I'm in Oregon btw.

depending on your local laws you can carry in state or city parks

carry a small frame revolver to use on dogs if you absolutely need to

Micro uzi or bust

I had two of these chase down my first dog down and rip it to shreds.

pepper spray is actually really effective against dogs. but yes guns are better.

my advice, get about six pitbulls pups. start fighting them. the last two surviving dogs make them your walking buddies.

It's legal to open carry any kind of knife. City might prohibit open firearms carry, but the state allows it where it isn't governed by local law.

Asp. You can brain them with that or let them bite it and you work the vitals with a push knife. Both of which have questionable legality but they can save your butt. My asp saved my ass a bunch when working animal control.

get something small and heavy and carry leather gloves put on gloves and hold small heavy item in the palm of your hand. Then proceed to beat the fuck out of the aggressive dog.

I'm looking up laws and it sounds like anything other than a pocketknife is illegal. But some of this legal wording is confusing. I'm not sure anything short of a sword would stop an angry one of these.

If you had an Ovcharka that wouldnt have happened. Did you at least sue the shit out of the owner

Found out legal knife length for your state. Just keep stabbing the neck.

Suing cost more money than they had.

They went one way and I didn't want to pursue them. I should've called the police but I didn't have a phone on me at the time either. Until this happened I didn't know going to the park required so much gear but I'm going to try to solve it.

It seems vague and not defined and just on a case by case basis. What I'm getting is mostly if it folds into itself it's a pocketknife and is okay. So what's the biggest "pocketknife" I can get?

As a mailman pepper spray does work, they even make special brands just for dogs, that the USPS gives out to you for protection against dogs while on the job.

The easy thing to do though is to present the dog with something to bite onto if attacked. Such as a mailbag, or in your case backpack if hiking. 9/10 a dog will go for the bag between you and try to rest it from your grip just hold on and give the dog a swift kick.

As a dog owner who likes to go hiking with my mastiff and camping in some state parks I usually almost always keep him leash less but I do put a muzzle on him. I also carry my rifle with me and if I saw some kid/guy stabbing my dog or shooting my dog more then likely I would shoot him. So be careful with your actions.

Can you own a wolf in Oregon?
>>
>>30999657
I think a while back they banned owning coyotes so I'm pretty sure a wolf would be off limits too. At least a pure wolf. A hybrid with a domestic dog I'm not sure about.
