I never bought it, looked pretty, but utterly boring compared to other stuff out there, and seemed to be lacking very key features to be called a sw battlefront game.
It looked like they took 10 steps back from it's predecessor in gameplay to try cash in on nostalgia-tards with more money than sense, while battlefront 2 took 10 steps forward from an already super-fun battlefront 1.
That release did convince me to play though battlefront 2 again though, had an absolute ball doing that.

This is the reason I didn't buy it, I played Battlefronts 1 and 2 for their campaigns and Galactic Conquest, plus although they were limited the space battles in BF2 were pretty enjoyable, I only wish that they had taken place over greater distances and with some more variety.

The new game is beautiful and I imagine that the flow of playing is pretty good based on footage I've seen, but I don't pay $60(plus a shitload more for season passes or DLC) for a fancy engine, I pay for content.

There was a thread about the inner workings of blaster rifles and shit in the SW universe a few days ago, I pointed out on that thread that it would be awesome to see a parallel to Rogue One about a creation of a specialist unit of Stormtroopers, carrying out clandestine missions and shit, better equipped, better trained with some real operator elements, the SW universe has so much Warkino potential it's unreal, and usually it gets wasted with dumb frontal assault tactics and rudimentary weapons (really boys, single shot space blasters with iron sights?).

I suggested it would play 50% action about the unit, and 50% about the no-doubt complex beaurocracy the empire must have, with a Game of Thrones style political sub-plot between fanatical, almost religious figures such as Kylo Ren and the legacy of Vader, against the older veteran lords who have actually seen shit and just want the war to end, preferably through victory, I imagine they would see the main body of rebel forces as the threat not Jedis and the Jedi philosophy, the power struggle would be super interesting and actually show different dimensions to the villains rather than "DEY EVIIIIIL".

Star Wars is terrible at actually making complex philosophical plots, given the universe it takes place in, they seem to break down what could be (and should be) a quite complicated story with a lot of grey area between good and bad, into a black and white (no cuck) movie where the infallible heroes defeat the soulless baddies, they only time they deviated from this was Skywalkers absolutely beta freakout which was A) predictable and B) Totally fuckin gay because he literally melted to death at the hands of the ultimate good guy.

From what I can tell, over a quarter of the people working on Star Wars for Disney right now are the Uberfans, the guys who play the game, read the whole EU, and watch A New Hope on Sundays as a ritual.

About half of the rest are moderate fans. They liked the movie, but care more about money more than they care about Star Wars.

The rest are the Disney Execs, forcing movies to have things that can be sold, trying to, as some would put it, "keep beating the dead horse until it stops spitting out money" not caring about the uberfans, only caring about the general masses.

I think Rouge One was written and directed originally by the uberfans, but the Execs freaked out and put the moderates in charge of remaking it.

I hear most blasters for TFA were 3D printed. Looks like for the most part, Imperial weaponry like the T-21, DLT-19 and E-11 look accurate. But the Rebellion's A-280 looks modified a bit. I wonder if it's just to add in detail from the original, or just supposed to be a variant.
