There are so many people in the US who don't know how easy it is to get shot. They truly do not understand what it means to fear for your life. All it takes is one hard fall to the ground for that 30 year old law abiding citizen to be crippled for the rest of his life.

If you carry a firearm you don't fight people. You don't get mad in the car. You don't get angry at the person next to you. You say sorry when you're in the right. You walk away from a threat before it begins. You avoid confrontation above all else.
