I found an interesting in-depth article on the development of tanks and their tactics. It's in an issue of Strategy & Tactics.
This is a magazine from 1970 something, so it's a dated, but offers a nice window into military tactics back then. For example it talks about how the M60a3 and Stridsvagn 103 are on the cutting edge of technology and compares soviet vs western armored doctrines.
It answers a lot of questions you may have had about armored warfare, and then some. So get comfy /k/ and I'll post the rest.
