/k/ Movies,
Nightmare mode: No "Heat"
Hard mode: not "Come and see"
God mode: No "Way of the Gun", aka, "Shittastic Plot, Great Gunplay"
Cross of Iron has really good editing
Kajaki is pretty good. And it's on Netflix.
Generation War too.
>>30972404

>>30972316

Enemy at the gates
Battle of Nereteva
most underrated war movie of all time
They blew up ACTUAL TANKS for it
And it's a great movie to show a treadhead
The set dressers had huge amounts of fun making shermans look like panthers, etc
>>30972323
plot wasn't bad though
im probably biased i enjoyed it
What the hell was the name of that one movie I like and see every once in a while there was one I was just thinking about and I totally blanked and forgot about it, now I'm thinking of one and can't remember the name fuckin Payback, that was a good flick.
I just seen Assault on Precinct 13 remake on a movie list and was thinking about watching it. I never got around to seeing Carpenters original even though it was on my list of shit to watch for the longest time, the first one worth checking out?
>>30973022
cancer
>>30973304

John Wick

>>30972316
Basically /k/'s wet dream.
Does anyone else have daydreams about living in this kind of world, btw?
>>30973389
that worth checking out if i seen the other two versions of that film with price and smith?
honestly think Surviving the Game with Ice T was a lot better as far as loner in the world with a bunch of people trying to kill him kind of plot goes.
Letters from Iwo Jima
Would you guys consider The Rock a /k/ movie? It's been a while since I've seen it but I remember enjoying it a lot.
>>30973458
Definitely worth checking out, as is a the original novel if you haven't already.
It's my personal favorite out of the movie adaptations, possibly because when i first watched the Will Smith version I was around 12 and had my dog sleeping in my lap so it reduced me to tears (read, cried like a little bitch)
Is Blood Diamond /k/ approved?
>>30973526
I'll have to add that one to my playlist, got like at least a dozen things I would pick first off netflix at the moment.
Would probably skip the book trying to keep my reading material down to functional information; like I started reading the SAS survival book got sidetracked with sci-fi stuff so just going to try and limit myself to like geography/fauna and flora/ mechanical stuff/science/military stuff/ learning a new language or just general school work type shit like math or something.
>>30973580
that movie bored the fuck out of me but i kind of want to rewatch it
>>30973633
You should movie I Am Legend to the top of the fiction list, kameraden. It's a whole book about alcoholic depression and survivalism.
basically the same as the Will Smith adaptation. It'll depress the fuck out of ya, but in an enjoyable way.
>>30972316

have fun, pretty sure the full movie with english subs is on Youtube
>>30973693
Might throw that somewhere down on my list, I quit drinking recently so it's not the kind of thing I like reading about. Movies are usually more of a guilty pleasure type thing than books for me. Books are just uncomfortable to sit still and read so I lose a lot of enjoyment from that compared to a movie or something where I can get up walk around or do some sit ups or just sort of stand around and watch it. books are usually a lot harder to come by so i tend to focus on collecting ones i think have important stuff.
i got some weird guilty pleasure movies like Time and Tide I don't know if /k/ would enjoy that one since it's subtitled but it's got a lot of action stuff in it.
>>30973802
I wasn't sure if /k/ would be all for the political commentary about the conflict diamond trade.
>>30975210
Just do what i did and ignore the commentary and enjoy the action and military stuff, Same as the Starship Troopers movie
>>30972963
this
I like referring The 317th Platoon. It's pretty /k/ and very unknown.

as opposed to everyone else?
>>30972316
A few years back I went to see the Director's cut of Das Boot with my brother at a small theater here in Houston. Mostly empty theater but most of the people there sat in the best seats right up the middle. During the movie we can here some people speaking German behind us. It wasn't real distracting. It was brief and not a big deal. We didn't think much of it.
When the movie ended we get up to leave and there's an elderly German couple behind us. He's literally standing at attention and she's talking to him and trying to calm him down and he looks like he's about to cry and/or kick somebodies ass if he can.
It was pretty weird/incredible/sad/cool. I don't really know how to describe it but he was definitely a German veteran. We wondered if he served on subs.
Bored so here are movies I want and am too lazy to see if they exist:
A movie about the battles at the embassies during the boxer rebellion
More movies detailing the Russian civil war from the White armies side (Remove Bolsheviek)
A movie about the Spanish Blue Legion
A war movie set during the Spanish American war
Some good stuff from the days of chinese warlords (early 1900s)
The War of the Pacific (in south america)
The invasion of Veracruz
More colonial war films from WW1
pic not related

Pretty good nuclear war movie, though dated (nuclear winter) and apocalyptic. Very dark.

When the taxidriver buys guns from the crook the crook constantly refers to magazines as clips.
>>30976401
When you look at that movie and think of it as "Payed vacation with cool operator guys" instead of "barbaric response from horrible government"
>>30977692
A good movie.
Does anyone know of any good movies about the Korean war? I've already seen Taegukgi and 71: Into the Fire.

Everyday we stray further from God's light
>>30982782
This had do much potential to be an amazing movie. The battle of Hürtgen Forest really needs to be told through a high budget movie.
I did enjoy it nonetheless.
>>30978130
CANUBREAV?
>>30982940
It was good for a low budget movie. The ending was a bit too much.
Catch 22
https://youtu.be/L3uf1DrLZ4Q
I just love dark humor. And the fact that all the flying is done with real B-25s.
I used to work on a B-25 about 5-3 years ago. The plane, at one time was owned by Tallmanz Aviation. In the past, Tallmanz did the flying in all the Hollywood movies, and the B-25 I worked on was used as a camera plane for Catch 22 and a bunch of other movies.
