What's the best bolt gun of ww2 and why?
Pic related: what I'm sure everone is going to say
superior
How are the Arisaka rifles compared to the other bolt action rifles that were used during WW 2?

You're embarrassing.
>>30958141
Strongest action in the war
>>30958141
very strong. Probably best action of the war from a mechanical viewpoint.
>>30958118
Nope.
>>30958141
Good, though all the rifles used were good. I'd put it at #3 or #4 overall.
>>30958141
kinda weird, but well built.
ammo is obviously hard to come by, and costs a fortune.
>>30958160
Oops, wrong picture. Pic related is the best bolt gun. Not just of WW2 but of all time.
K31 if you count it as a bolt action of WW2.
Otherwise its the Arisaka and the K98, but also the finnish Nuggets and the Carcanos chamberd in 8x57

I swear you're just being contrarian at this point

Same power as M2 ball or NATO 308, sights are 100% better, action strength between the two is parallel, and capacity is exactly the same. In a rifle that is lighter, easier to manufacture, shorter, and easier to maintain/disassemble. Yeah, it's better than the Mauser.

>retarded bolt handle
>>30958141
nobody knows
they havent been shot in 80 years
>>30958254
>Same powers as 308
>when the enemy is firing 7.92 SS Patrone
>In a rifle that is lighter, easier to manufacture, shorter, and easier to maintain/disassemble
it is slightly shorter, with a shorter barrel
weighs the same as a 98k
and is no easier to field strip, given that it's a single turn of a lever in the Mauser and it's ready for cleaning.
they almost managed to match the 98
in a rifle designed and built 40 years later
>>30958149
How is action strength determined? No shitposting, genuinely curious
>>30958141
Strongest action with better safety features than a '98.
The rest is pretty much the same as one or more of its competitors.
>>30958312
How high they can proof load it. I think the Arisaka tops out around 106kpsi.
>>30958312
By how the action locks into the receiver- the Arisaka copies a 3-lug Mauser design, which is very strong.
However, when making what was already a good, strong action, the Japs used very high quality steel, better than what the design called for. So it came out ridiculously strong
>>30958312
It's a mauser with an even better supported chamber and vent holes in the top.
There's stories of old fudds shooting oversized ammo (8mm, usually) through them for years with no explosions.
They'd get rebarreled for magnum cartridges back in the milsurp hayday.

Not hard at the ranges you'd fight at in Finland.

You're the retard, boy.
