Looking to build.
How is Bravo Company USA?
I'm interested because I see they'll permanently attach a flash hider to a 14.5 mid-length gas system.
Chemfags, quick question; can I chromeplate Aluminum? I want my entire rifle in chrome.
>>30954207
why would we get mad?
however, that muzzle brake looks dumb imo
>>30954303
This. At first glance it looked like it was integrally suppressed, but nope, just a faggot brake.
>>30954303
Whenever I initially suggested the idea people got mad and said it was a dumb idea.
I'm gonna get some rail covers to pad the thickness and make the handguard match the diameter of the CC Comp, but I think it looks very Star Wars-y and that's why I got it, but I hear it's a pretty good comp as well.
>>30954315
Stay mad gayboy, it's one of the best pistol/SBR comps there is.
>>30954325
if the best comp on the market was a giant black erect dong for the front of your muzzle, would you use it?
>>30954325
For the theme, i think its perfect anon.
even if it was a terrible comp, i would still keep it.
>>30954207
Nothing to be mad about, other than Star Trek being objectively superior.
I only hope you didn't go full storm trooper with it, otherwise he won't be able to hit a man target for 1 foot away with it.

Doesn't matter to me and I don't give a shit about either series. It's a birthday present for my Dad who is a huge Star Wars fan.
>otherwise he won't be able to hit a man target for 1 foot away
I wonder how many times I will hear this joke

>>30954445
I can't stop.
>>30954404
That's good though. I really hope he likes it and gets to enjoy it for a long time.
I've bought mine a couple guns that he wanted, like a big ass 44 mag revolver. Set the grip up, nice sights, a holster, and about 5 lbs of ammo.
>>30954488
Nice 320, fagbreath.
>>30954501
Thanks.
>>30954510
Go get the compact and the carry lower frame.
>>30954521
Dude, I want those kits so bad. I keep putting it off because I'm an idiot who enjoys supporting his local FLGS's, but I'm going to have to resign myself to buying them straight from SIG. At least I still have my 20% coupon.
>>30954538
I'm too inebriated to bother getting mine out for a picture, but I'll say this. If you can shoot the fullsize regular grip fine, then the compact with the carry frame is what you'll want. I had a hell of a time hitting targets (ok, steel BC was fine but not soda cans at 25 yards) at 25 yards with the regular compact grip so I got the carry frame, which allows for flush 17 rounders and that made all the difference. I know it's not a bullseye gun, but clay pigeon and soda cans should be a given at that range.
Next up, the X-Ray sight upgrade.
>>30954207

A FUCKING WHITE GUN
>>30954629
We here at /arg/ pride ourselves on originality. That's why you won't see a bunch or Acogs, M600Ps, magpuls stocks and grips, and so on.
Is this foregrip legal?
This has been my build for the past few months, it's finally going to come together fully in a week or so. It's specially designed it to shoot bullets while looking totally badass
>>30954708
sure it is.
i dont know, just email your states agency that deals with guns.
or find out if brass knuckles are legal in your state, and some states have a ban on only knuckles that are made of metal.
for example.
In south carolina i would contact SLED.

>>30946999
For a first build, what should I be aiming for as far as price (msrp) for the lower? I'm not trying to do a budget build or anything, just looking to something of fair quality that doesn't make my wallet sad.

>>30955403
Yea, they're popular in the military and law enforcement communities.
>>30955403
a piece of wood and ducktape works just as well familam
>>30955358
Alright thanks. Any brand recommendations?
>>30955520
for stripped lowers, just go with whatever the hell you want. Doesn't really matter too much, don't listen to bullshit posted on this board. Anderson and Aero are good, relatively cheap brands that a lot of gun stores carry in store. Essentially you are paying for what logo is on the side. Lower parts kits are also sold at most lgs, but be prepared to pay more. Most mil specs are pretty cheap, and are of general good quality. A good but a little more expensive mil spec option is this one from Palmetto

>>30956631
>>30956638
>>30956631
I'm tempted to try one of their holsters, but I'm a big fan of hybrid holsters with leather backing.
>>30956647
I got their light compatible sidecar like the pics above fer glock19 & x300u. my favorite holster for sure. I had a gcode aiwb light compatible holster before, which was a complete piece of shit compared to the trex. trex arms and bravo concealment are fucking awesome.
>>30956678
Really? I had thought about the Incog. Maybe when I pick up an XC1 for my Glock 19 I'll give trex a shot. I just really like my comp-tac mtac. I was also considering the Raven Eidolon as well because Raven Concealment is local here.
>>30956689
yeah, I mean all my friends wear gcode. I ordered one, it took 11 weeks to arrive. I feel like at week 10 they suddenly rushed through my order. they don't have a good design for aiwb light+mag caddy. it's like 4 pieces of plastic bolted together, it's a hideous awful gigantic monstrosity with no retention. I was pretty pissed when it showed up.
course their other holsters are fine but. I was willing to try another company after that. gonna stay trex / bravo for lyfe now. this trex is two pieces and has adjustable retention, easier to get in my pants, its comfy as fuck and its high speed low drag.
>>30956742
I have an INCOG for my 19 and I have to say it was one of the most uncomfortable and overly bulky holsters I've used. Also took something like 10 weeks to ship. Excellent quality and nice draw but I just went back to using a raven vanguard again.
>>30956779
yeah. my favorite holster for glock 19 is probably bravo concealment D.O.S. appendix. it's as streamlined as you can make. but these days I want to have a light and a second mag up front.
>you will never start up your own "tactical" company producing gimmicky, overpriced trash to weekend warrior mall ninjas and make millions upon millions of shekels
what's the point of living lads
>>30956779
I don't really care for my Raven vanguard because it doesn't keep the butt of the gun tucked close enough to my body and it's hard to keep it from printing or moving.
I might try the Eidolon or even the Trex holsters. I like the size of the vanguard, but I just don't like carrying with it. I also prefer to carry at 4:00 as AIWB causes too much printing unless I'm wearing baggy clothing because I'm somewhat of a hungry skeleton.
>>30956805
It seems to me that you don't have the communication skills necessary to build a company and work with customers.
>>30956798
I'll have to check them out, there is a storefront on etsy of all places called American optac that makes phlster style holsters for just about all the popular carry guns, might pick one of those up for my 43.
>>30956809
They make a thing called the Raven claw that's supposed to pull the handle into your abdomen, never tried it tho.
I'm pretty spoopy too but I feel like the only way I can carry in just a t shirt and not print is appendix
>>30956835
I don't know why I can't do it. I can manage to carry my glock 19 and my P239 at 4:00 in a t-shirt, but with AIWB I have a giant bulge at waistline and to me it's obvious that I have a gun.
>>30956809
skellington reporting in. man, you're doing something wrong. if you have a good belt and holster, we've got an easier time concealing than heavy set dudes.
>>30954349
Would you not?
>>30956851
I don't know man, I have no problems at 4:00, it's just AIWB that I can't seem to do.
>>30956848
Interdasting. Could have something to do with what >>30956851 says. Good gun belt does wonders.
>>30954298
>>30954878
my bcm has the 14.5" mid enhanced light weight and it feels pretty good, nice and light up front can hold it for days without muscle fatigue
BUT it won't cycle slavshit ammo half the time even with a standard buffer weight so it's rarely gets shot because Jew priced brass
feels batman
>>30956865
I've been using a 5.11 trainer belt that has been great for me at 4:00 with a comptac and P239. Not sure why it wouldn't work well at AWIB with a lighter gun and slimmer holster.
Ok /k/
I want to build an AR before the next scare kicks in.
I was wondering what''s the best websites to buy the parts from.
I know there's PSA, but looking for alternatives to get the best deals.
Also would like to know which names to look for and which to stay away from.
>>30956934

>Midway
>Rainier Arms (best customer service I have dealt with)
>LaRue

>>30956320
Another cheap standard side cut brake, but with a threaded base that a little sleeve screws over... It is suppose to still function as a brake but deflect the noise forward. It works ok... The diameter is really too narrow to do both well.
What are the pros and cons between the TA-01 and the TA-31?
>>30956946
Cool. ty
>>30956977
crosshairs vs retarded donut
>>30956998
If I went with the TA-31 it'd be the RCO with the red chevron
All these filters
>>30957002
01 is lighter, has fiber optic, 31 has fiber and tritium, is heavier. crosshairs arguably better for being precise at range, faster target acquisition with the chevron, a bit harder to be as precise until you get to know the optic well.
>>30957080
Thanks I'm trying my best to not be impatient and just going with an aimpoint pro or comp m4 on my M4 clone. I know I still want to put an Accupower or Accupoint 1-4x on my other build, but I think an ACOG would look cooler on the M4 than a dot.
>>30956977
I personally prefer the TA01 over the TA31F the reticule is more precise and it's easier to range a human sized target at distance. How ever the TA31F is faster tip of the chevron at 100, inside tip of chevron at 20 and top of the vertical post it 300. But it is a little bit less precise for range estimation. Now the TA31RCO has the same reticule as the 31F. The RCO has additional horizontal stadia lines for mil ranging for indirect fire.
Both the TA01 and TA31 are good choices but have their pros and cons. I have 31F only because it was a good deal.

>>30957146

>>30954207

>>30956678
I'll vouch for bravo concealment. I have their RTT light bearing holster for my M&P+TLR-1 (which also it's my Operator+TLR-1) and love it. Super retentive and sturdy. I've been thinking of getting a smaller profiled light and getting one o their IWB holsters for my 1911. My LGS carries Streamlight stuff, so I've been thinking of getting a TLR-3 or -4 and carrying it.
>>30957357
Also, does anyone know of any good IEB mag carrier? I want to get a couple for my 1911. I have the big, chunky plastic one that comes with springfields, but I don't ever use it for carry. I've thought of getting a bravo concealment 1911 mag carrier and using their IWB loops.
I also would like input on a new AR build I'm going to do if anyone's down to play with someone else's money.
>>30957357
So I think this is my kind of what I'm going to go for with the Elcan being replaced by an ACOG.
It's probably going to be hard finding an ATPIAL-C unless I just go with an DBAL or something which I don't think will look quite right.

What's the better of the two? If the 2nd is more clone correct and has other features go for it, $200 isn't much in the long run considering you will like it more
>>30958158
Any particular reason? Are you not happy with your TA-01? I think I'd like the cross hairs but would also like to have the BAC because I don't plan to piggy back an rmr any time soon.

bac and daylight illumination. the irons on the ta01 are useless outside of 10yds

>>30958171
Honestly, I think I'd like the TA-31CH best but it isn't clone accurate. It's got the cross hairs with the center illuminated red and fiber optic. Probably not as fast as the red chevron but I like the cross hairs and fiber optics.

I wonder what happens when I use this on nudes...

What's the best upper receiver?
Kinda new to this stuff but I want my first one to be Gucci
What the most ergonomic way of manipulating the standard bolt hold open as a lefty? I find the right-hand safety easy to manipulate with my trigger finger, but I find myself awkwardly reaching around with my right hand to get the bolt release after inserting a fresh magazine.
I'm considering a BAD lever or its clones, but I've heard those negatively impact reliability.
>>30958932
buy a lot and give me some
>>30958965
Can you buy a stripped KAC upper receiver?
>>30956239
>that protrusion blocking the safety
Disgusting. Further confirms LWRC lower is the real master race
Has TS been stagnant?
>>30958977
They only had one box but I bought it to try it out. Oh and 2000 rds of Geco
>>30958964
as a lefty you should be golden as far as using the stock ping pong paddle goes. it's right THERE for your left hand to interact with.
>>30959012
No, and he meant the entire thing
>>30959012
Maybe.
KAC stuff is intentionally hard to find, especially stripped.
>>30959046
at cabelas?

>>30959151

>>30959053
I thought it was bad form for your shooting hand to leave the grip
>>30959064
>KAC stuff is intentionally hard to find
why
>>30959182
you can't reach the paddle with your left hand without leaving the grip?
>>30958948
Yeah, well I had the money, didn't want to build at the time, and didn't want a Ruger or M&P Sport.
>>30959190
Its just not available in most retailers, and its not like KAC goes out of their way to make online sales easy like literally every other manufacturer does.
>>30959190
They're a little greedy. Name another manufacturer who sells the proprietary barrel nut wrench for $100?
>>30959241
>KAC stuff is intentionally hard to find
you said intentionally. do you know what that word means?
>>30959202
Under perfect conditions, sure. It's just quite a stretch for my middle finger. What I've found to be a comfortable compromise is to sweep most of my firing hand off, with my thumb still hooked around the backstrap to give me a little more leverage, but I thought that was bad form. This is part of why I find myself actually liking the A2 grip: the little finger nub makes it easy to reindex my hand.
>>30959276
Well if they are not doing things that would clearly boost sales then yes, they are intentionally holding back product to inflate prices, and presumably increase QC on what they actually do sell.
>>30958964
I've never had issues with either of my BAD levers. I don't know where the reliability problems come from, because mine operate fine.
>>30959151
Got any more pictures?
Parts?
Which ACOG?
>>30959157
cabelas is the only place that sells their ammo regularly, that's why you can't find a lot online. when it's on sale for 50cpr ya can't beat it
>>30959190
because they have government bux and don't have to pander to the pleb civilian market so they can charge $2k for the sr15 and $4k for the sr25 because they don't care if it sells they got govt contracts to fill
but don't worry colt did the same thing for decades till the DoD got tired of their jewing and auctioned off the contract to the lowest bidder so once the DoD stops letting kac suck on the taxpayer tit they're going to fire sale every goddamn piece of kit they own for half of what they charge now
also I have no idea what I'm really talking about
also
>current year
>owning a AR with proprietary parts
>>30959334
That's not bad, I just paid 60 cpr. Id go to my cabelas more often if it wasn't stocked with a bunch of crap and far away.
>mfw they wanted $800 for a rusty used PTR
Gonna have a good Friday night

>>30958466

>>30959044
I'll be on around 930 pacific time
>>30959190
Because fuck you, KAC wants it to stay that way.
Anyone use an Inforce APL? Kind of interested in getting one, but I don't know anyone who has one
I like my KAC, I could care less if you own a $500 or $3000 ar, if you like it that's all that matters
>>30959414
I think that's what it is when not on sale. They said they have to ship the ammo via shipping containers and cabelas is the only one who can afford it
>>30959433
gib neat bottle
>>30959450
You can have when empty
>>30959463

>>30959056
>>30959064
All I want is a upper receiver. Not an entire upper. I want to put it all together myself.
Who else makes a Gucci upper receiver? I'd love to get a KAC obviously but I don't see that happening.
Mega? Vltor? Lantac?
I have a Geissele rail I'm using and read that they have to be modified to work on mega bullet uppers, so I want to avoid that it possible.
>>30959433
>bourbon
>from Oklahoma
No
>>30959299
well i use a modified taclink EBAL if that's any indication as to my opinion on the bolt catch lever on the AR.
i prefer the way the ACR does it desu. The battery assist levers are the next best thing on the AR15 pattern of rifles I suppose
>>30959536
Yeah I know I am apprehensive, but I have heard good things.
>>30959433
Where'd you get this?
>>30959540
Index finger, not middle finger. That would be really dumb

>>30956470
WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO A RIFLE
>>30959994
It wasn't just that. Father in law was fucking around with the women, throwing plant matter and shit to make them think it was bugs.
Since we were so far out, it was totally silent except for our footsteps and voices.
>falling asleep in reclining chair all comfy like
>right on the edge of fucking sleep. 10 seconds away
>hear what sounds like a dog approaching
>think "oh hey dogs are cool"
>wife: dad did you do that
>her dad: nope
The noise combined with the fact he genuinely didn't make that noise prompted me to fly out of my chair and blind everyone with the flashlight because it was so odd.
Turns out right behind the chairs was where a kangaroo rat lives. As much as he spooked us he probably came out and went "oh shit"
>>30960025
Normally I don't mind them
>>30959514
Uppers are really basic, it's hard to declare one gucci unless it's billet and/or QC'ed to hell and back.

>>30959922
It's the big nasty looking scorpions that are pretty safe. It's the small baby ones that are dangerous since they can't or won't limit the amount of venom they sting with. They like to hide in your garage and under you bed in the southwest.
>>30959888

>>30960231
Get rid of that disgusting chicken wing and bladed stance.
>>30960343
Look at that man's age and the way he's holding the rifle. He's probably used to M1's or M14's, the curled front hand to avoid the op rod. Go watch Jerry Miculek's stance when he shoots an AR, he chicken wings harder then Col. Sanders. Both men obviously know how to shoot, they're just not c-clamping Costsa faggets
>>30954349
Yes
