Are there any historical female warriors or soldiers who's stories weren't exaggerated?
Joan of Arc is pretty well documented.

Bodicca, Warrior Queen of the Celts. Romans raped her literally and she and her armies proceeded to rape the Romans militarily until they overcame her by sheer numbers. There was also some Chinese princess who led an army with a baby on her back or some shit, and apparently Sun Xang Xiang isn't just fap material from Dynasty Warriors. Also, any good mother whose child is being threatened in front of her. Jesus Christ, do not poke Mama Bear.

Other way around, Watling Street was decided by Roman training and the inneffectuality of Britons, since Celts cannot into discipline or bravery. Wasn't until the Saxons and Angles came to inject a big load of Germanic superior genetics into England that it was worth half a shit.

As warriors. In John Skylitzes accounts of the Siege of Dorostolon in 971, he writes that armed women were found among the slain left behind by a Norse force that had sallied forth against the besieging Byzantines in order to capture supplies for the besieged.
I don't really want to talk about women right now

We are looking for stories that aren't exaggerations
Scythian women supposedly went into battle, and were buried with weapons and such. Now everyone (on /v/) knows of Scythian queen Tomyris would defeated Cyrus the Great when he invaded her lands. Some sources say she killed him, others say he died peacefully.

When the girl's parents put her away in the Visitandines convent in Avignon, Maupin followed, entering the convent as a postulant. In order to run away with her new love, she stole the body of a dead nun, placed it in the bed of her lover, and set the room on fire to cover their escape. Their affair lasted for three months before the young lady returned to her family. Maupin was charged in absentiaāas a maleāwith kidnapping, body snatching, arson, and failing to appear before the tribunal. The sentence was death by fire.
Yeah, I guess we can let her in.
>>30929147
Everything is sort of exaggerated really.
But to me it seems that women in history seem to get the boot a lot. Say what you will but some people don't get the respect they deserve. It's only when they try to take credit for everything. That makes most people mad

>>30932056
No, nobody does. Joan of Arc was a competent military commander who saw success because she, as the namefag said, had a firm grasp on the practical applications of artillery.
"She was just a mascot", is something a fucking brit would say because they still have trouble admitting to murdering a religious young girl who united France and turned a dry dynastic squabble the people didn't give a shit about into a war for God and Country that the people most certainly did give a shit about, because she wouldn't stoop low enough to ride an Anglo cock to save her life. Nobody claims she was a great commander, but she was a competent commander with a firm grasp on both the basics and a healthy respect for firepower, on top of being an excellent leader of men.

Wanna know what impressed me about Jessica Lynch? It wasn't her "wartime" story at all. She was poorly trained and unprepared for a very shitty situation created by piss poor leadership. The CPT that drove them through Nasiriya TWICE should have gone to jail. Long story, the details of the investigation are public, look it up if you want...I hope the remainder of his career was a short and miserable one.
She was lucky to have survived. She struggled to keep her wits about her and was lucky enough to make it, we can't take that away from her.
But what impressed me was her actions after she got back home. She had a long, painful recovery. She still feels the effects of her injuries every day. Permanent nerve damage. The Army tried to make her out to be a hero. The Army exaggerated the whole story. The battle, her ordeal in the Iraqi hospital, the rescue, everything. But instead of embracing the tall tales of her "wartime" accomplishments and "playing the hero", she didn't hesitate to immediately go public to tell the real story. She came right out and said she never fought back, she never even fired a shot and was knocked unconscious. She admitted the doctors at the Iraqi hospital struggled to save her leg and keep her out of the hands of the Iraqi Army. She exposed the Army's attempts to cover up the fact she was raped and sodomized by the Iraqis. She said she did very little and instead tried to keep the focus on the soldiers who died that day, especially her friend Lori Piestewa.
She took the high road. She told the truth and I think the courage and sincerity she displayed in doing so is what makes her a hero. She even testified before Congress to set the record straight. She's humble.

While not part of a war or some larger event, there is the story of Sargent "S" from the Israeli Karakal unit.
In this case, as a matter of change, I known the official story to be less impressive than what happened because I had the chance to read the full report of the incident: few years ago, during a border patrol, the unit's Hummer got into an ambush from the Egyptian side of the border and was hit by an RPG- wounding one soldier, while the patrol's commander was injured by small arms fire when exiting the vehicle.
Sargent "S" (who's name wasn't revealed due to personal security reasons) dragged the commander back from the open, and held off the ambushers on her own, killing 7 of them, until an Apache helicopter arrive and eliminated the remaining 3 terrorists as they escaping.

That's not really true. The seidsmen were very important to that society and they were scandalously close to transexualism, quite probably crossing the line entirely on occasion.
Scandinavian society has always been strongly matriarchal. The vikings went raiding cause their wives demanded nice things.
I swear, this worn out bait topic gets replies every time. You guys never learn.

>>30933740

>>30934645
Through her own intent/incompetence.
And the fact that she milked it with a sob story of "waah I'm literally the only female in the entire history of the world to ever get captured by the enemy" and started multiple charities that are Susan G. Kommen-tier (IE, they pay the founder in the name of something else and throw a scant few percentages at whatever they claim they're supporting) for literally years.
She is a fraud. She was INVESTIGATED as a fraud, and they had enough evidence to indict. They chose not to because it would've turned it into an EVEN BIGGER shitshow than it already was.

You're blaming her for a PR story the army cooked up while she was still in the hospital. She came forward with the truth like two months after her rescue, after her release from the hospital. Nothing about her is fraudulent. There is no "evidence to indict" her for anything
>>30935553
It's like you actually expect /pol/cuck virgins to admit a woman actually did something even remotely right in the history of mankind.
Every single of these threads is the same shitty baitfest of HURR ALL FEMALES IN THE HISTORY OF MILITARY WERE PR STUNTS, AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT.
Doesn't matter if there are any. The most badass thing a woman can do is have many children and be a good mother and wife.
If these women are exceptional then they would best serve us making exceptional children rather than risking their wombs in battle.
>>30935638
It does get tiring. But then, I could say that of society in general these days. Extremists of every stripe all fighting to impose their will on others and very few who seem to just want to leave people alone.
>>30929151
She was more of a crazy lady that riled up a bunch of nobles, only even wore armor once, and that was to smiggle her past enemy patrols. By her own word she only ever carried a banner and never killed anyone.
She was never an actual warrior, her schizoid rants moved the right people to make the right decisions, but ultimatley she didnt really do any of the actual fighting.
She was like a cross between an advisor and a mascot, maybe a little talismanic too.
>>30935638

She poisoned herself so that wouldn't happen. She'd rather have died than be captured by the enemy. But I learned that when getting my history degree so what weight does that hold rather than some armchair historian on 4chan? :^)
