Ammunition in a fire is a non-issue. Any cooking off ammo is going to be far enough away that it won't be an issue to the fire fighters.
It doesn't explode in mass, it's more like brass popcorn, throwing out fragments of the casing.

If for whatever reason, FFs feel the need to waltz into a burning ammo store, a single layer of sheet rock stops the shrapnel. Turnout gear would also probably stop the shrapnel if they really feel the need to get right in the face of a burning pile of ammo.
