How do you fire something at 1800 RPM? Wouldn't you run out of bullets in like 5 minutes?

Your barrel would melt before then.

1800 rpm is just a little above idle. If you really want to rev up those guns then go to 6000rpm, but your mileage will suffer a bit.

Very carefully, and in short, controlled bursts.
>>

What is controlled burst fire for 800, Alex?
>>
Is there a machinegun that fires 60rpm?

Kinda depends on how many bullets you carried with you, Hans

Rate of fire isn't all that important for a squad MG as long as it can fire reasonably quickly. Something at 800 vs 1800 rpm is meaningless.

Only wehrmacht and minigun fetishist children obsess over it.

Ease of transportation, reliability, and interchangeable ammo are the most important parts of a modern squad MG. i.e. the PK.

The Germans had plenty of spare barrels and ammo to feed the MG42 until the end of the war when supplies were running a bit short.

You gave me a headache.

The M60 fires relatively slow for a machine gun
>>
>>30804289
An M60, or any MMG fired by a decent gunner, is going to fire 3-5 rounds at a time. If there's a limit to the number of available targets to service a rate of ~60 per minute is perfectly reasonable.
>>
Not an MG-42, thats an MG-34
