Hey /k/, I'm looking to buy a .22 rifle. Should I get a marlin 60 or a 10/22? Are there really any differences?
Marlin if you're a cheap ass, 10/22 if you want dat aftermarket
One is tube fed one is mag fed. one is popular and highly customizable, the other one is a Marlin.
Get the 10/22, you'll be much happier with a quality rifle over a cheap rifle I assure you.
10/22 is a really good choice.

I don't know why anyone would intentionally choose a tube mag over something where you can change 10-25rd mags out in seconds.
Also, I don't see the allure of 22lr these days under any circumstances.

Besides $20 for 525 plinking rounds?

I haven't seen 500+rds of 22lr for less than about $50 in a long time.
If you can find them for 20, then I'll stfu. Carry on.

50$ for 500+ rounds is honestly pretty decent these days. I could easily drop 40$ for 20 rounds if I don't shop around.

Yeah, but that's a quarter way to 1000rds of something that's actually loads of fun to shoot through a long gun like 762x39. I get FAR more fun per dollar shooting a few rounds of something centerfire than a 25rd mag of 22lr.

My cheap plinkers, except for my sr22 pistol, have been completely replaced by ~$250 pellet rifles in 177 and 22.
They do most of that, and shooting is nearly free per hour.

You should get a .22 pistol.
It should have the ability to mount a scope.
If you're getting this for fun then its going to be especially fun to pop off rounds with a pistol like its nothing.
If you're getting this to Prep for #Wrol then you still want a pistol over a rifle for these reasons:
* With a little training, and a scope, you can still reliably take small game like a squirrel or rabbit at 20-40 yards. They allow you to get that close.
* For self defense it does a whole lot better than a rifle, and you can even use it from inside a tent or car.
* It weighs not more than 3 pounds while a 10/22 weighs 8 pounds.
A good .22 pistol is going to cost you $100 more than a 10/22 but its worth it.

And to go along with it... there is also this one. Its running about $300 ish or so.
Portable, able to be used with both hands, and the standard sights are shit so you'll want to put something good on it anyway.

Well, to be fair, I do live in commiefornia, so mags aren't nice. But I might move, so it would be good for future states.
