I too am a gun owner with a very large collection who feels our country is out of control when it comes to guns. However, i feel that we need to focus on training and education no turning in all our guns. Educate people on how to properly, safely, and efficiently operate guns, make them take a class and pass a test to own them, and make them keep up to date on training. Also, put more attention to training, education, and awareness of mental health problems and their treatment, because lets be honest, sane rational people dont committ acts of sensless violence. I know im gunna get a lot of shit from all the clingers here on /k/, but its the way i honestly feel and do beleive the US needs to do something.

The news isn't talking statistics, they are very careful not to because the statistics don't support them.

This country is still safer than it was back when we had an assault weapons ban.

Further, the simple fact is that guns don't cause violence anymore than tableware causes obesity. Shitty food and sedentary living makes people fat, shitty lives, a bad economy, and despair for the future is what causes people to be violent.

I appreciate your altruism but the guns themselves aren't causing the issues. Deal with mental health issues, gang violence, and terrorism. The problem is that not only would we be giving up our rights but you also wouldn't fix the problem.
