Well...no. They aren't trying to "blend into the water". The Navy chose that style of camouflage (color) because those are the most common colors used when painting a ship. That way the paint "blends" in to the uniform. And there is ALWAYS wet paint onboard a ship.

First off, your post is bullshit. Paint shoes up in NWU's blatantly, the entire idea that the Navy implemented NWU's for "paint camouflage" is just fucking stupid. Second, there isn't a single goddamn sailor (deck department or otherwise) that would just wear coveralls instead of having working in his NWU uniform and ruining it. Third, I've worked for 2 deck Chief Warrant Officers and neither of them has ever spelt their title other than "Bosun".

Bosun is one person. Generally a deck CWO who was a BMC. A second class can call himself boats, but I've never met any enlisted called bosun. However, I agree with everything else. I've never seen a Sailor paint in their NWUs when they have coveralls available.

The only reason the navy has camo uniforms is because they want to fit in. That is literally the only reason and if anyone says otherwise they are either an idiot or are lying. The other branches wear camo, and when you would be at joint commands or together in formations the navy would look fucking stupid in utilities so they adopted a camo for themselves. They went with blue cause why the fuck not the ocean is blue. Thats the truth and no one fucking cares. Also no one paints in them you always put on coveralls so whatever faggot was saying that can drop dead.
