Building an 80% AR for my first AR because I live in a shithole I can't buy an AR in.

Any build recommendations? Preferably a parts kit with high quality internals/a good barrel.

>also considering an 80% 1911, but only considering; if any other 80% pistol blanks you would recommend, please feel free to do so

Recommendations/insight welcome.

Forged over billet. That way the grain of the metal is all running the same way vs an amorphous blob

Trust me I am :^)

Polymer80. I only say this because unless you have the proper equipment, it is very easy to fuck up alum with a regular drill press. Going the router route with any type of metal is dangerous, especially with a novice user. I've been into woodworking all my life and did it for a living, and routers still are my least favorite tool.

Polymer is a lot easier to work with and polymer80s new blend seems to be legit. Like most /k/omandos here we don't use ours ars heavy, and even in a SHTF you won't have to discharge mag after mag. Get an xy vise, and the polymer80 kit, they also make a lower for full size glocks. It looks comparable to lonewolfs.

As far as parts, you 80 lower when your done should be just like any other lower. Before anything else is said tell us what your intentions are. Plinking, HD, competition, or just an AR to have.
>>
>>30771728
thanks for the advice anon, i actually just found polymer80 today.

my brother-in-law is much more experienced and better equipped tool-wise and i would probably ask him to help me with a forged OR polymer receiver.

if i go forged I was thinking of getting this:
https://www.80-lower.com/80-lowers-easy-jig-drill-bits-forged-black-fire-safe-1-pack/

OR i'm seriously thinking about a ghost gunner like another anon posted the other day

any suggestions for some good internals, a good barrel, etc? materials or brands to watch out for, good or bad?
>>
Get your 30 rounders in a free state. For Massholes in the audience, take I-93 north to Salem, NH or I-95 north and US-4/NH-16/Spaulding Turnpike to Newington, NH. Easy trip up.
>>
>>30771886
A Ghost Gunner is $1500. It only starts making sense if you're building a dozen or more, at which point the ATF is going to give you a walnut shampoo and take your dogs to the farm.
>>
>>30771913

How would they know?
>>
>>30771975
The ATF has pretty much taken up permanent residence in Defense Distributed's asshole. If Hillary wins, expect a warrant for their customer list.
>>
>>30772040

Do you have any support for this claim?

I'm sure they have contingency planned for that if it comes to search warrant for the customer list.

i'm willing to pay the price for higher quality if i can't do it right with just the jig i posted

Are you serious?

Aren't you familiar with the ATFdid to Ares Armor? Raided them solely to get their customer database. And they got it. Google it.

Once the BIG crackdown comes after Shillary wins, and it's coming trust me, ATF will mass raid every online gun and accessory dealer in the USA and get their customer lists.

If she wins there will be blood.
>>
>>30774731

>If she wins there will be blood.

well duh unless she hit menopause
>>
>>30774724
This. There are only a few scenarios that could happen.

>arrest a couple of guys that have HUGE collections
>offer buy backs
>hope the scare tactic worked

>send scrawny government employees that now have to actually do something in order to get paid door-to-door
>either they knock once and quickly leave scribbling "DONE" on their clipboard or they persist and you end up telling them you sold those 2 with 4473s to someone in a private sale and they never know you didn't or the 20 you have without paperwork

The average /k/ommando with a couple of firearms has little to actually worry about.
>>
>>30770141
still dont get how that dude did that.

using 80% arms lower router jig
only 3/4 way through
finish looks very good

They set up camp there when DD published the 3D printer spec file for an AR lower that survived hundreds of rounds of testing a few years ago as open source. The "legit" websites took it diwn but it's still seeded on TPB.

I did mine with a hand drill and a $99 laminate trimmer from home depot. It was a bitch of a job. There was a steep learning curve but once I got the hang of using the router it wasn't so bad, it was just a lot of work. As the other anon mention, the whole time I was well aware "wrong tool for the job", but in the end... it worked out pretty well.

The jig I used was from 80percentarms, and I would recommend it... although the instructions and video they have need work.
>>
>>30780008
All of it. You're a delusional boob. Hillary's convention "bounce" was negative and Trump's lead is increasing in key battleground states. Even New York and the West Coast states aren't completely off the table yet.

Not CAD, 3D printer spec files. You can feed them directly to a printer and they'll get to work.

the 1911 builds look pretty cool, but there arent really any good step by step vids on jewtube. so unless your mechanially inclined your prob gonna fuck up a couple.

also polymer80 has a glock compatible pistol frame, but same shit, not really any detailed step by steps available.

if anyone knows any let me know.
>>
>>30786156
Polymer80 now has a video up showing how to use their glock jig. Its pretty good. Its on their youtube channel. And its easy as hell. You could very well finish it with a dremel.
