I recently was working at a summer camp and was assigned to teach archery and riflery. Biggest things that bugged me were at riflery if a kid had his finger on the trigger but the command to fire hadn't been called yet or when a kid looked like he was ready to draw back the bow without an arrow nocked.

Jeff Cooper took that a little farther than he needed to. Imaginary bullets only make imaginary wounds. Clear the gun, have your lighting and camera ready, clear it again if you think maybe you accidentally loaded it while you were setting up, set your gun up and snap your picture. If you let it out of your sight amd have any question at all of the condition of the gun go ahead and check your chamber.

Also there are videos of Jeff Cooper dry firing his 1911 in a classroom full of students while demonstrating trigger control. Clearly he knew that if you've cleared the gun, bullets aren't giong to magic their way into the chamber.
