What do you guys think is the most practical order in which to buy guns. Starting with the most practical to the more specialized?

My practical order would be:
1. .22 rifle or affordable milsurp rife of choice
2. 4.25" 9mm handgun
3. AR15 or primary rifle of choice
4. A designated CC handgun
5. Shotgun
6. Full size .45 handgun
-
After that personal preference takes over

Discuss.

>innawoods revolver (.44 mag)
>sniping rifle (.308 or similar)
>>
>>30757896

>.22 or similar small bore, low maintenance, low recoil rifle
>Primary or preferred rifle within reasonably tolerable limits of recoil
>Pistol or shotgun
>Shotgun or pistol
>Whatever you want past this point
>>
Buy 3 of the most expensive AR 15s you can find then buy the cheapest of whatever else you can get.

if this is going to be your only gun for a while years before getting another and you are poor
pump shotgun>22>pistol>intermediate rifle

if youve got a decent chunk of change
pistol> intermediate rifle> 22> whatever> shotgun when you feel like it
>>
>>30758025
1. fighting rifle (e.g ar15)
2. ccw
3. ???

1: 9mm pistol (full size).
2: 12 gauge pump shotgun 20" barrel, 8 or 9 round tube.
3: .308 or .30-06 bolt action Durr rifle with scope.
4: .22lr pistol (Ruger Mark III)
5: CC Pistol or revolver.
6: AR-15.

In years past the .22 pistol would have been top of the list; but ever since Sandy Vag .22lr prices and availability haven't been the same, so the 9mm is my first pick.

>22 raifu
>22 pistu
>cheap HD scattergat
>CCW handgat
>cheap large caliber raifu
>primary raifu either full size or intermediate cartridge
>revolver

of course if you don't want a dinky .22 because its weak, not fun to shoot, or ammo is a bitch, feel free to skip to scattergat and cheap rifle
>>
>>30757896
Considering I'm Cucknadian, I want a good semi-auto or BA rifle, preferably something milsurp with fairly common ammo. My best bet is something like the M14- .30-06 and .308 are common rounds where I live because hunters and shit. The M14 is good for range fun, hunting and fighting all in one, and can have optics attached for relatively short-range snipings. Next would be a solid handgun, an old autoloader or a revolver. Think 1911, Luger, Webley or maybe a Browning. Not for CCW, since I'm a little sensitive about my asshole and don't wanna go to prison. Last, a nice shotgun. A Rem or a Mossberg, pump action. A real sniper weapon like an Enfield with a mounted scope or a Rem 700 would be an afterthought but still kind of important.

>.22 as first gun

Fuck no, that's stupid fuddlore based on the notion that novice adult shooters are equivalent to 10 year old's who can't handle recoil, loud noises, or heavy fire power.

First gun should be something you want that's economical but also decent. For example
>Want an AR
>Research ARs and buy the best in your price range
>Want AK
>Find best AK in price range
>Want whatever the fuck?
>Find the best one in your price range and buy it!

Your first gun should be what got you interested in guns, not what some fudd or neckbeard thinks you need and definitely not some poorfag shit like a mosin Nagant.

>1. .22 rifle or affordable milsurp rife of choice
.22 is fine. But is milsurp ammo affordable?
>2. 4.25" 9mm handgun
Why not. You offer milsurp as an alternative but don't mention .357/.38 spl revolvers as an alternative.
>3. AR15 or primary rifle of choice
Perfect. Why not mention the other major .30 cal rifles?
>4. A designated CC handgun
Why don't you buy the gun you're going to CC?
>5. Shotgun
No opinion on gauge here?
6. Full size .45 handgun
For what purpose?
>>
>>30757896

My practical order:
1. handgun for self defense
2. Modern sporting rifle
3. Upgrade handgun if it's shit
4. upgrade rifle if it's shit
5. Training aids like laser trainers if you're too poor or busy to go to range often
>>
>>30757896
>Cheap first rifle (AK, .22, budget AR)

>Handgun. Preferably CCW. (9mm?)

>Good rifle (Good AR or battle rifle)

>Shotgun if you ever want one, otherwise full size pistol next.

>dream gun (>$1800)
>>
>>30758478
After handgun should be

> At least $250 in training for the firearms you now own.

And then continue to train and attend courses as you upgrade.
>>
I just buy whatever the fuck I want or need.
>>
>Home defense pistol
>CCW pistol
>Shotgun
>AR 15
>NFA items
>>
My first gun was 8 guns that I got all at once. 2 revolvers, 2 shotguns, 2 .22 rifles, an Enfield and a Krag. As for purchase, My fist gun purchase was an AR-15, then a FNS-9. Soon after, I bought a derringer that I sold and decided to get a Model 10. I then built myself a 20" AR-15, bought myself a Bodyguard 380 and a Benelli Nova 12GA, jacked off a few times, then decided to get something in 308. I decided on the Mossberg Patriot, pretty goob, then I just bought a 20/22 finally last week and now I'm just buying barrels and triggers for it to see what I like. OH, and there was a Thompson Contender in .223 somewhere in there. I think that came between the Patriot and the 10/22.

Anyway, order doesn't make a lick of difference. Just go to the gun store, find something pretty, buy it, go back next week and repeat. Eventually, you'll have all your needs filled.

Oh shit, nigga, I almost forgot, I went to find a picture to put on this and I bought a S&W victory too... I have no idea where that is right now though.
>>
0) if you have absolutely no clue about guns, a 10/22
if you do have a clue, just go straight to
1) HD rifle like an AR
2) pistol for CCW
everything after that is for fun

.22s are nice and good for learning but if you're not a total goober you'll learn fine on a 5.56 rifle
