I'm hearing that the army has a machine gun per fireteam, while the marines have one per squad.
Are the marines so tough that they don't even need suppressive fire or is the army just pansies.
>>30737436
both U.S. Army and U.S. Marine fireteams have an automatic rifleman
>>30737436
Marines don't need anything bar AR-15's to be fair.
In Iraq one marine took down entire armoured division with single burst of powerful 5.56mm cartridges.

Automatic riflemen =\=machine gun.
>>30737461
>Iraqi armored division
So two tin cans and a conscripted goat to drag them?
>>30737504
automatic riflemen are equipped with the M249 squad automatic weapon
>>30737511
>M249 squad automatic weapon
That isn't a machine gun, it isn't crew served. I'm talking about m60's.
>>30737541
M60s aren't crew-served weapons
>>30737558
And we don't use them anymore. Haven't for a while.
>>30737541
M60s aren't issued and aren't crew served
>>30737541
>a belt-fed automatic weapon with a 100 round box magazine doesn't count as a machine gun because it isn't crew served
Everything I wanted to say has already been said. You guys are awesome.

troll or stupid?

>i dont know the definition of a gun

ARs most certainly are machineguns. The Army and Marines don't have MMGs in the rifle squad, but rather in the weapons squad.
