The rifle itself was about $800 not counting sling and SSA-E. Building allows you to make some pretty decent upgrades within the same budget. It's hard to do when you've never owned an AR though.

The easiest thing to do is grab a lower, completed or otherwise, and then grab a decent upper on sale. PSA is great for that. Their premium uppers are pretty legit when they're in stock. Hopefully they'll have some for their Labor Day sale.

Well he's got no excuse because it's summer. Unless it's a torrential downpour there. But in the winter here, cast iron grill pan and adding a bit of ground coffee beans in with the dry rub gives it a nice smokey flavor and you get the grill lines.

Got a question for you guys. With the upcoming AR clusterfuck in california, I'm hoping to get in on a .308 AR to have before they become unobtanium. I've completely written off SCAR 17s as the one behind the curtain here are going for 4.5 to 6k depending on included extras.

I found these two ARs here for sale and wanted your guys' opinion on them. I'm mostly shooting from a bench with high powered optics since my eyesight is so terrible, anybody got any opinions on either rifle? One's a Saltworks build and the other is a POF G3 build with a 24" bull barrel.

So /arg/I have a magpul MOE handguard with flashlight and foregrip I've been using (pic related) and an m4 style plastic handguard because I like the aesthetic of it. But I might want to move on to a quad rail

Opinions on quad rail vs MOE? I'd be getting a cheap one if I did. Any recommendations? Or is the MOE good enough and the quad is kinda pointless?

Depends on your intentions with the rifle. If you want a true SHTF rifle or want to impress these fags, buy once cry once. That being said, if all youre doing is plinking and taking it innawoods for shits and giggles, a 50 dollar quadrail will be fine, just makes sure it's good aircraft grade aluminum (same as a good lower google it) and youre good.

As far as picking goes, find the one you'll find more attractive and more importantly, comfortable and fun to use. Your rifle should be begging to be touched every time you look at it.
I would go with the MOE, since quadd rails imho feel like cheese graters and will just encourage you to buy useless shit for it.

Save up your wagecuck coins for good glass (vortex for scopes, PSA Microdot for rds), nice trigger, and good upper, THEN buy useless shit to take advantage of a quadrail.
