It's a fine gun. Not great in the classic meaning of the word but if you have to shoot a nigger and the police take it from you during the course of their investigation you won't be upset when you get it back and it has a big ass property number poorly engraved across it.

I normally dislike Glocks. As you say, they're boring. Yes, I understand that they are robust and hard to stop, but they feel fucking terrible in my hands.

The only two I have ever liked had grip enhancements, so maybe a Glock is not totally out of my paradigm in the future.

Overall I own Sigs, HK, Glocks, 1911s and CZ.

Sold my CZs and HKs since I don't need them.

In my personal experience reliability wise Sig >Slightly> Glocks >>>> 1911. Glocks are just cheap throwaway guns that I can CCW and not worry about losing it if I happen to use it.

I dislike Glocks and their cult following but you'd be a fool to say they're a bad firearms manufacturer by any means.

I really really really wanted a Glock 40 for target shooting. Then I read about its 3" average spread at 25 yrds. Not really acceptable when you are trying to hit a 3/4" target.

Because Glocks are great. Not to mention Hickock mentiones EVERY TIME that it's a matter of taste and that comparable hks, sigs etc. pp. are just as good quality wise.

Glock is too generic. It's designed as a standart weapon for officers, security etc. who visits shooting range just to keep their licences. Everyone has to find his "perfect one" (for me it's walther ppq m2 - perfect fit into hand etc blergh blergh...), but saying generaly glocks are bad is bullshit

For some reason I want to buy a glock 19 every time i see a picture of one, even though i don't enjoy shooting the g19 at all.

It feels cheap and looks too blocky from behind and i don't enjoy anything about the trigger. I would much rather spend my 9mm stock on guns I have fun shooting, and I am very happy with my current carry piece, so I don't plan on replacing that any time soon. I know if I ever bought one i'd never take it to the range or have any fun with it.

Still though, why do I feel this compulsion to buy one anyway? Is this some kind of meme magic? Has glock advertising seeped deep into my american brain and planted it's perennial capitalist seed, never to be removed until I pick up a shiny new gen4 g19?

That said, I have a g29 that I think is fun but that's more about the novelty of super hot 10mm and the fact that I carry it innawoods, so i associate it with fun times and general /k/ommando shit.

It kinda makes sense to me, Glocks are easy to use and work well. I don't own one myself, but I don't have anything against them. Especially for someone who isn't really an enthusiast but wants to own a decent firearm it's a good choice. No sense spending a grand on a nice Sig that will live it's entire life locked up in a drawer.

Probably because it's a gun that fuckin works. I hate glocks and I'll probably never own one, they're ugly as hell, but they are damn well designed and they work. If you need a gun but have no fucking clue what to get aside from "handgun", then a Glock 19 will pretty much do the job.

I know how you feel, I used to hate them for being bland as shit and the fan base. Now if I found a good deal I would probably pick one up because it's a solid gun BUT I wouldn't set out to buy one.
