Is this worth it?

15 round capacity and 9mm. I don't yet own a 9mm.
>>
You can find them for less than that. Beretta are nice pistols. Check out CZ P01 if you don't like the slide controls on the M9.
>>
>>30558926
>made in italy

You want the made in america ones for the slides that don't fail
>>
>>30558926
You can usually find nib American ones on back page or arms list at about 350. So no.

It's a really nice gun, first pistol I ever shot. The only downside is I got used the aesthetic and now think the rectangular glock looks tacky.
>>
>>30558926
No but the 17,18, 20 and 30 rounds mags are.

>>30559065
Or you can go to berettaforums FAQ section to learn about the actual models and production years that had problems, but I suspect it's far easier for you to remain a twat

>>30559611
Where the fuck do you niggers live? I bought an fs for like 700 dollars, new, in northern va.
>>
>>30560620
Anywhere near military bases will have shitloads of slightly used ones for dirt cheap.
Because
>be 11B
>get paycheck
>buy brostang
>want to buy a gun
>"give me that m9"
>brostang payments come in
>sell 92fs

Cuz it is.

The only thing I dislike about this slick fucker is that it's very difficult to C&C
>>
>>30558926
Depends on your definition of "worth it". I've seen better prices, but not by a whole lot unless they are beat to shit. I've shot a few 92's, they are very nice guns but I don't personally feel compelled to own one. You don't own a 9mm, but do you have pistol experience? They are relatively complex guns and might not be the best first pistol for someone. They fit my hand fucking great though, and if you don't mind the DA/SA they are sweet shooting guns.

Easy field strip, plenty of mags around, sexy as hell. whats not to like
>>
>>30560620
Was about to say what >>30560647 said. South Dakota. They're in Sioux falls though, not rapid. Even the lgs have new ones for 450.
>>
>>30560815
I always think they look ugly but this pic reminds me how nice they look with better grips, thanks anon
>>
>>30560985
Hello fellow SD bro.
>>
>>30561073
Sup. SD, the land of firearms, prairie niggers and natives.
>>
>>30561133
And mosquitos, humidity and wind.
>>
>>30561343
Jesus the fucking wind. You'd think no wind meant no wind, but no, 5-15mph minimum.
>>
I want one but I already have a full size 9mm (usp) which I love and I don't like having redundancy in my gun cabinet.

I might get one if those 84 models in 380acp since they look and feel just as good. Throw some wood grips on one of those and you're good to go. Great guns, all of their stuff is.
>>
>>30561400
But if you can light a butt there you can do it anywhere. Is east river as bad as the black hills?
>>
>>30558926
If you have very small hands, you will not like the M9
>>
>>30558926
As said, you can get them for slightly less.
Hell, you can also get flush fitting 18rd mags from MecGar, so you're not limited to the oldschool 15rd mags

>>30559065
Fuck off.

>>30559611
That'd be either a Taurus or European 92SB with a heel release, no way are you finding a NIB 92FS or 92A1 for that price.

>>30560647
Wait, people do that?
I mean, I guess it's used but I'd hardly see the value go that low for one unless it's REALLY used, I'd see the value go down to 400 at the lowest.
>>
>>30563659
Could get a 96 Brig just for shits.
>>
>>30563843
Damn that's a good looking pistol. If there was ever a reason to buy a 40s&w, that gun is it.
>>
>>30559065
You're chock full of excellent information. Wish I could hear it all

>>30564254
Yeah, and with a Brigadier slide you could run real hot handloads to actually make the .40S&W chambering worth your while (I'd consult some load data for it)

I don't think they make the 96 Elite anymore though. You could probably make something reasonably similar looking by putting a stainless Brig slide on a black 96A1 gun, and then maybe look at some Wilson Combat grips.
>>
>>30564460

I would like to see one of those brigs with a wood grip setup.
>>
Can someone with an M9 talk to me about the accuracy of the weapon?

A vet in the family absolutely despises the M9 as being inaccurate, as he always does poorly with it but fine with other handguns, and said that other servicemen had similar complaints.
>>
>>30565004
This is a gun someone on here put together, it's a fairly faithful replica of the S.T.A.R.S "Samurai Edge" custom Beretta 92FS pistols from the Resident Evil series.
Aside from being geeky, it's honestly pretty cool in my opinion.

>>30565084
The accuracy is fine, arguably it can have slightly better inherent accuracy due to the fact that the barrel doesn't tilt upwards when cycling, as on most short-recoil pistols, rather it recoils straight backwards.

>A vet in the family absolutely despises the M9 as being inaccurate, as he always does poorly with it but fine with other handguns, and said that other servicemen had similar complaints.
Usually this complaint is traced from the fact that the M9 pistols in military employ have all been used nonstop since Operation Desert Storm, these guns are older than I am, and have a high roundcount and lots of abuse on them.

The fact is, the M9 pistols in inventory are all pretty much done with their service, overdue even, so there's no wonder that they're going through a program to procure new pistols.

They'll likely go with a new gun, but even if they went with just basic, but brand new 92A1 pistols, that'd work just as well.

I think he'd probably have a much greater time if he were to put a few magazines through a brand new pistol, even a Glock or 1911 would be pretty weary after 30 something years of pounding.

>>30565251
was S.T.A.R.S their tactical unit? Or their rescue unit?

Go for it, great gun aand that is a decent price for one. I paid 700 for mine cause I wanted to support a new local gun store. Get a couple factory thirty round mags for it, they work flawlessly.
>>
I have a beretta 92 centurion for my concealed carry weapon. very reliable in every way.
>>
Fuck this gun forever. I carried an M9 the entire time I was in and I hated it every range day. It doesn't feel good in your hands, the single double action is annoying, and I never shot as well with it as my personal firearm.

Go handle it in a store before you decide to get it, you may fall in love with it. I know a few people who swear by it and bought a 92FS as their own carry.
>>
>>30565251
How did you get the slide milled?
>>
>>30558926
go handle one, they feel like you are trying to fingerbang a garbage truck, and the trigger pull seems like you are trying to shoot a space invader on nintendo and tell the gun to shoot, and this is supposed to be the sort of italian pride that invented the lamborogni and all them sexy women? I've felt more tactical turds in my life.

Not mine, some guy on here had it sent to a custom outfitter to give it the forward slide serrations and the S.T.A.R.S markings

I got a 92a1 a few weeks ago. It has a rail and comes with three 17 round mags for 650$
>>

That's what you'd call a scam, young man.
>>
>>30558926
$555 is too much for a 92f

dont buy anything off gunbroker, always overpriced as shit just look for deals locally or on slickguns or armslist. someone might know other websites with gun deals.

also, used guns are a pretty good deal, you can get practically bran new guns for 20% off.
>>
>>30569290
>$555 is too much for a 92f
$555 is a good price for a 92fs, what are you smoking?
>>
i don't know much about firearms but i think i'm looking for a SA/DA or SA lightweight compact 9mm for pocket carry i'm looking at the Sig P938 are there any others i should consider? any like the Sig P938 but lighter?
>>
>>30560620
550 seems to be the running price at VA gun shows for new.
