I've always been a loops guy for my holsters but now that I have a tiny single stack it'd be nice to have something I could use without a belt. How do the clips like pic related perform for elastic waist shorts? Do I need clips with teeth at the end instead?
Those are belt clips. If you want to carry in gym shorts then get a sticky holster.

>Those are belt clips.
Okay, thanks.
>If you want to carry in gym shorts then get a sticky holster.
That product does not instill me with any measure of confidence.

I recommend a holster with a spring steel clip with a tooth. I know Dark Star Gear does them as custom orders. I think JM Custom does as well.

I've been looking into workout shorts like pic. Forged and Rogue American make them.

Thanks, that sounds solid, JM Custom is a store I'm familiar with due to them being highly recommended for AIWB holsters.

Consider getting a belly band. I bought one falco just for kicks because it was cheap and now regularly use it when I wear sweatpants or somesuch.

and a BELT CLIP clipping to your basketball shorts does? was it hard passing high school?

If it's got enough power in its pinch, or teeth to let it grab, yes it does.

Neither of which make for a good belt clip, OP... Being wide enough to readily accept a leather belt makes it hold weight like shit on gym shorts. Teeth make it too grabby to properly thread a belt through without shredding it.

You're in out of your depth. I'm >>30555789
and I actually have some stuff with spring steel belt clips and a tooth, and it's fucking fine. Grips well on my shorts for the gym, doesn't mangle my actual belts.

By the tooth you mean the reverse bit of metal that pokes toward the belt right?
Because I've also heard of clips where the very end is basically serrated.

Yes, something like https://tictail.com/s/bladerigs/ravendefoor-eidolon-single-clip-upgrade
or https://tictail.com/s/bladerigs/ravendefoor-eidolon-twin-clip-upgrade
I believe JM and DSG use the single clip. I know Keeper's Concealment makes a holster that uses a plastic clip he stipples and I've heard it's also totally fine.

Thanks a lot man you've been a major help and I mean that sincerely.
For anyone else with this problem, here's a couple more holster makers I've found that seem to have clips of this variety, pic from the first:

What's wrong with the Remora?

They don't appear to have the positive retention that kydex does, and it seems like something could get into the space around the gun... which is how you get an ND.

What anon said, the Galco Belly Band is tits for small pistol carry.
