You do know that the wood just so happens to be specific to the photo i downloaded off the Internet. You can get all sorts of wood kits for the VZ58 and im pretty sure the one pictured has a custom kit. Its not strictly shredded dogshit and wood.

As for the expensive mags, not that expensive when your living in Eastern Europe.

I love my Vz but I can objectively say that a few things about it are complete dogshit

1) The wood. The wood is some kind of compressed sawdust or something, idk. It looks ugly, but is attractive in an abstract way. However, it also overheats to high hell fast as fuck, to the point that I find myself grabbing the magazine to fire after only a magazine at a moderate rate of fire.
2) The folding stock on mine is a wobbly piece of shit. This might be because I got mine from Century Arms, but I've heard lots of people complain about the folding stocks.
3) The sights are terrible, mounting optics is difficult

If you put proper furniture on it and a rail for an optic it's much better than your average AK, but even at its best, a decent AK will probably outperform and outhandle it.

mine came from century as well. the stock isnt the problem. the muzzle break is. i cant get it off for the life of me. looks like a 14x1 LH thread. But nothing ive done has gotten it off. Im tempted to grind it to kinda remove the brake down to tip of the thread to break it off. And then just put the muzzle nut on it if possible.

I've got one, I like it. But it gets so fucking hot that the lacquer on the handguard actually boils and makes tiny bubbles on the sides until it cools down. The mags are hideous also, but other than that I like it.

Century builds use what was basically an AK barrel with LH threads. Are you depressing the retaining pin and rotating in the correct direction? Have you tried penetrating oil?
