Turret-switched tanks thread, be it MSPaint/Photoshop jobs, scale models or real-life ones.
I'll start off with some really bad MSPaint hackjobs I made.
All pictures sourced from http://www.clavework-graphics.co.uk/tanks/tanks_001.html and http://ws-clave.deviantart.com
First out is a Cromwell with a Panther turret slapped on it. Probably some kid of "D-Day landings fail and Germany eventually gets boots on brittish soil" desperate battlefield scavenge job.
inb4
>X chassi can't support Y turret
>X tank wouldn't have met Y tank
All these were made for shits and giggles with no regard to anything but rule of cool.
>>30547856
Next up is a Panther with a Panzer I turret. Because it was just too funny not to do.
Scales might be off because i can't be arsed to micromanage stuff like that in MSPaint
>>30547856
Id love to see a Leopard turret on a slav tank chassies.
>>30547876
I'd love to see Leopard 2's turret on Tiger I or II.
>>30547856
Tiger II chassis with IS turret
Oddly enough I have something for this thread.
>>30547870
Keeping up with the Panther theme here's a Panther with a T-34-85 turret.
M46 chassis with IS-4 turret
>>30547894
And here's the reverse. T-34 with a Panther turret.
I remember having seen pictures of both this and a Panther chassi with T-34 turret a while back. too bad i didn't save them
>>30547870
That can't be to scale
>>30547915
Cromwell with a T-34-85 turret. Could be a lend-lease Cromwell rushed back into service with a new turret
>>30547915
That's what Panther was supposed to be, an improved copy of t34 but instead it became the sexiest tank of WWII.
>>30547935
And the reverse T-34 with Cromwell turret
>>30547926
Yeah it's probably horribly out of scale but like i said i can't really be arsed to fiddle with it more
>>30547952
Moving on we have a Sherman with a T-34/76 turret slapped on to it.
>>30547894
>dat Shot-trap
no
>>30547915
Better
>>30547975
On to the last 2 now. Second to last we have a Cromwell with a Sherman Firefly turret.
Tiger P Hull with Churchill Turret
>>30548001
And the last one out for now is a Tiger I with a Sherman Firefly turret. Because the two iconics really need to meet and find common ground
>>30548018
Ok, I lied. That wasn't the last one. This is. Think of this a a bonus one though.
Let me present to you the Leman Russ of the Imperial Guard, made from a Brittish Tank Mkl.IV Male and a Cromwell turret with up-scaled gun to mimic the Leman Russ battle cannon
>>30548010
Closest i could get to that was a Tiger I with a Cromwell turret.
Here's something that i found here on /k/ a few days back.
It's suposed to be a Maus with a IS-2(?) turret.
>>30548365
IS-7 turret
>>30548391
Thanks. I knew it looked way too odd for a IS-2 turret
>>30548001
This looks breddi good to be honest
And just because >>30547870 wasn't silly enough, here's a Panzer I with a (horribly off-scale) Tiger I turret
Anyone know of any good places to get easy-to-manipulate side shots of tanks except those in the OP?
>>30547915
That actually looks great.
Sheridan hull with Stingray turret<?>
Wagaming April Fools, i think.
>IS hull, Tiger turret
too bad it'll never be a gameplay option/
Sherman with AMX turret
>>30547856
Here's a terrible job I did in GIMP of the turret of the Object 279 Soviet prototype super heavy tank an a Panzer I, to scale.
>>30548703
>putting a turret as large as the hull on the hull
Absolute madman
>>30549473
>scaling it correctly
The absolutely maddest of men
>>30547935
actually this looks very good. I would not be surprised if something like this was really made back then.
>>30549107
The jews did this
>>30549473
>Be an SS hold out somewhere in Switzerland.
>It's 1959
>Our Panzer I is still operational
>Hans tells me he got some new equipment for our tank to increase its capability
>Agree to this
>A few weeks later, a large shipping container shows up
>Hans tells us to close our eyes
>A few hours later and lots of curse, we open them
>A turret the size of our tank has been placed on
>The wheels seem to be bending
>He gives it a practice run
>Doesn't go 2 feet before the transmission snaps and the engine catches fire from the heavy load
>"Watch this."
>He loads the main gun
>Fires
>The Pz.I is blown back off a cliff.
>Decide to surrender.

>>30549910
Doesn't matter mate
>>30549910
Frankly, with some minor adjustments they'd make some great fake tanks for a vidya gaem. I always hated just ripping off one historical tank for a decent design, now I can rip off two at the same time and it won't be so blatantly obvious.
>>30548365
That actually doesn't look that bad, desu
Seems pretty plausible compared to the normal fuck huge Maus turret.
>>30549910
I'd love to see a Centurion with either a Leo II or a Abrahams turret

That one was just captured from the Egyptians.
The Israelis put the same cannons in the original Sherman turrets instead of replacing the whole turret.
Panzer IV with Tiger I turret

technically it's a Patton, with an Abrams turret.

Sdkfz 254 with a T-38 turret
>>30552355
Forgot to add that it IS a switched turret eve if teh 254 usually was turretless, because there was available a Pz I turret kit for it, while that vehicle has a Bubba'd turret instead.
And literally nothing more in my collection - got tons o pics of tnks with weird turrets, but no so many of switched turrets+hulls.
Have a prototype twin gun Sentinel instead.
>>30552284
Gotta shoot fast. I wonder why low caliber high velocity wasn't more of a thing.

How can improve glorious KV-2 comrade?
Is easy. Make amphibious.
>>30547856
This is a concept I've actually seen before in alternate history forums and for wargames in order to make "original" or improved military equipment. I've found some ones that proved pretty interesting, I'll see if I can't find a few pics.
The Valiant cruiser tank - a fictional widened, up-armoured Valentine chassis with a more powerful engine that is able to be fitted Sherman turrets and armament. Later versions carried T-80 electrically-traversed turrets carrying 17-pdr and 90mm guns. Others were fitted with Achilles and M36 tank destroyer turrets.
the fictional Coyote reconnaissance tank, based on heavily modified and improved A13 Covenanter and A15 Crusader cruiser tank chassis, was used throughout the war in the scout role. It was later modified post-1945 to create the Bobcat APC (fitted with a Staghound armoured car turret and 20mm Polsten autocannon) and the Lynx recon vehicle (fitted with a M24 Chaffee light tank turret).
the fictional Kodiak medium tank I found, made using, among other ingrediants, a Comet suspension, IS hull, I think a T-40 turret and what appears to be a 20-pdr gun. Tank destroyer variant has a 105mm in a M36 turret
Pulled the three examples above from here http://www.panzercentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43002
Surprisingly decently researched alternate WWII where the Canadians and the rest of the Allies get bitchin' gear. Pretty much all the fictional vehicles listed in it look like they get their illustrations from frankenstein'd shit made in photoshop
>>30553060
The hull looks really ugly senpai
>>30553376
I didn't make it, but yeah it does. Still, if it existed it maybe would've offered the Brits and the Canucks something akin to the Pershing, or at least have been a tank that could've taken on the Panther and Tigers better
http://www.panzercentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=46301
Found another bunch of frankstein'd vehicles, this time from both Allied and Axis nations. There's also a bit of alternate history involved that includes a slightly less Nazi version of Germany teaming up with the Allies and Finland to fuck up the Soviets, for all you Wehraboos and alternate history nerds
Guys, guys.
Like, what if someone put the turret and gun of a Jackson...
...on the speedy Hellcat?
Wouldn't that be a silly thing?
M3Stuart turret on an universal carrier chassis.
>>30553629

Why are sandniggers so laughable in everything they do? Even the signs at a (presumed) museum look like they were made using PowerPoint
>>30552731
If that was the /ak/ thread I'd answewr with "Nina, pls". SInce it isn't, i'll point you to that in the recent anime movie "Girls und Panzer: der film" they do exactly THAT.

Excuse pic quality. Reposting from another thread.
Hello there!
Fuck yeah! Rule of cool! Know what else is cool? Veterans! And, if we factor in what the veterans used to be part of, the military!
Veterans and the military not only fight for their beliefs, they also fight for their platoon! Or battalion? I digress. Basically, their comrades! So by this, I can ascertain that the individual soldier fights for his individual beliefs, and the beliefs of his men! His platoon!
Also if we factor in what the military represents. Fighting for the country. How big is a country? I don't fucking know. Countries are all different and I'm too lazy to look it up. Unless someone would like to provide an easy link for me to understand the population of all the people in the world? I kind of need to anyway. I carry the world on my shoulders! I need to account for every single individual on the planet! Dispute? Good!
Unfortunately though, if we factor in things such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, they end up bringing the demons they fought in warzones, conflicts etc. back home with them! This affects their families, their loved ones, their friends etc. The PTSD patient relives his experiences, seeing as my father is a war veteran he relives his experiences every day! He's educated though! Works in a war museum! Talks about war every day! Talks about the military every day! Wears military clothes every day!
While it is cool that he still wants to do that, he needs to realize he is retired.
I will carry your gun.
Let it go Dad. Seriously. You aren't there anymore. You're back in the country, land of the free. You need to be free.
Please...
You're hurting me.
You're hurting your loved ones.
Why won't you discuss this? Why won't you dispute it? Why do you block every attempt I make to try to talk to you about these things!
I will carry your gun.
This whole thing is for you! I carry the world! My world is the internet! I'm ushering in reason, critical thinking, judgement, hell /g/ tells me to install Common Sense!
So, WoT's devs are out of idea for the next update, they decide to get some from 4chan?
>>30547856
Thoughts?
>>30556506
I was wrong. That's not a Hellcat turret on a LVTA, that's a modified Hellcat hull.
>>30556541
>>30556541
Adding on to this, the comment limit is quite limiting!
Know what else is limiting? Not talking about your problems! Bottling up your demons and failing to engage in disputes means that you can never really rationalize your problems! You can't conquer others if you can't conquer yourself!
I will carry your gun.
You fought for the country. I fight for the world. All of us here are kindling the flame, the fire. I, and everyone here, is the Soul of Cinder.
Meld your opinion with mine in an act of love. Remember when I was a kid? Remember how I watched the Digimon movie over and over again?
My bond with you is so strong, my bond has become digital!
Just as I am the Wargreymon, you're the Metalgarurumon!
All these people are coming out of their shells and showing their true selves! Their souls are linking with me! I feel them! You need to feel them too! You fought for countries! I fight for the world!
I will carry your gun.
I need it anyway. I only have a Transcendent Sword! I need your Supreme Cannon!
I will carry your gun!
I'll shoot that motherfucking bitchass Diaboromon to shit! Soul of Cinder is kinda like Omnimon anyway! Same shit! Just as Soul of Cinder is all the people who kindled the flame, Omnimon is not just Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon, but the souls of EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. ON. THE. INTERNET!
Look at the fucking video. I'll link you here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9GJOWkLrg0
I dispute Diaboromon. He's a fucking virus. Epic Fail Guy was a virus. A disease that poisoned Anonymous! Diaboromon = Anonymous, Omnimon = Love! Love for a son and his father, love for the country and love for the world!
I will carry your gun. Just as you have a Supreme Cannon, it will be my Supreme Honour! Legend of Zelda! Ocarina of Time! Soul of Cinder is me as kid Link! Omnimon is me as an adult! Omnimon is more badass! And it's the digivolved version of the internet anyway!

We are Omegamon. We are the end.
Found this in my files. Not really a turret switch but at least a gun switch with added bubba turret. A Finn-captured BT-7 with the turret replaced with a brittish Q.F. 4,5 inch howitzer Mark II and some steel plates welded into a decent small-arms protected turret
