who gives a shit about aftermarket parts? What the fuck is up with people and their love affair with making their gun have a purpose other than showing off and looking cool. If he has some sort of firearm for self defense why even bother trying to justify using that aforementioned firearm for anything other than a fun range toy. I have 2 Ar-15s I'd use for shtf or home defense and the rest of my safe is filled with fun rage toys and other cool shit of that nature. Also I'd love to have an Stgw 57 because they look really sexy.

That is true about aftermarket replacement parts though. I'm sure if you're rich enough or know the right people to get one you can probably track down replacement parts for it.
I've also got a few one magazine guns such as my Svt 40.

Barrel could run you up to $2,000... not even kidding. If you're willing to spent that kind of Moola watch Gunbrokers. Search for PE57, STG57, Stgw.57, Swiss Barrel, etc. It's how I found mine.

I've actually got an Stgw.57 and a Chilean Navy SIG 510-4 (the .308 folks have mentioned) out having receivers built and installed now. Parts and labor will run around $1,200.

Do your research, look for Mag Arms and Honey Creek Industries. If you're willing to find and buy a 7.5 barrel, buy a kit and track down a builder, you can have a '57 for around $3,000-$4,000. They sell, complete, for upwards of $6,000.
