Let me humor you with a serious answer as well as the reason why you will never see the Mammoth Tank IRL.

There is nothing an upgraded Maus could do that couldn't better be done by the Paladin or the Abrams, and the added mass wouldn't benefit it since the way composites work it would have no better armor than the latter in addition to being a much larger target. If you want an even more unkillable Abrams, you would double-layer composites on its existing chassis, which would still be damn expensive and not really practical, but is less so than going with the trouble of designing a purpose-built super heavy.
