Not sure quite how obscure we're going here. Would India-Pakistan be too well known? Everyone seems to know they hate one another, but less attention is given to the wars themselves.

The 1971 Indo-Pakistan war is fascinating. Especially since the USA backed Pakistan who (a) lost and (b) were engaged in genocide.

There was a brief skirmish between Yugoslavia and Warsaw pact in mid '50s when Tito told Stalin to check himself. Can't find sources, but gramps was commanding a company stationed on the Bulgarian border at the time, he lost men almost every week. In that time frame, those who were in the know expected a full fledged Soviet invasion.

Preševo Valley Insurgency 1999-2001
Decisive Yugoslav victory
According to the Kumanovo treaty, KFOR troops, supervised by the United Nations, would enter as a peacekeeping force, while Yugoslav military forces were to withdraw. It was agreed that the KLA would disband by 19 September 1999. The Preševo valley conflict erupted in June 1999.

Maybe in '48-'49 but by mid '50s Tito-Stalin split was all over. Although its possible that there were skirmishes even during '50s, but unrelated to Tito-Stalin split. I think there were skirmishes with Albanians thorough cold war. My grandfather was on Hungarian border in Vojvodina from May '48 up to July '49. From his stories his military service consisted mainly of digging trenches.

The Greek Civil War (1946-1949) is pretty interesting. Communists fought the US/UK-backed right-wing Greek Government. Got pretty close at times.
