It's a long story, but basically, since they're actual soldiers, just wearing a ceremonial uniform, they're expected to use their actual service rifle at all times.
For the same reason that palace guards use their SA80; they are actually guarding those institutions, and have the authority to use those weapons. You couldn't say the same for an Enfield.

I mean there were thousands and thousands of unissued No4 Mk2s that were made in the 50s that they sold off instead of kept. Thankful that they did though.
