Looks like a self-propelled AA gun. Turret looks similar to an M42 Duster but the hull is a lot smaller.

The hull is smaller because it's missing the mudguards, stowage boxes, and most of the engine compartment.

The hatches at the front are all right for the M42.

It's been cut. Has same front hatch, same hull fittings(lifting eyes, assrtd brackets etc.,) same front idler, same casement. Etc. etc. etc.

Sometimes the Germans would capture T34s and use them against the Soviets. This happened a lot in Kursk, I think. A tank column with two captured T34s and two Panzers passed a Soviet tank column and they were alright for a second, until a Soviet noticed, turned around, and prepared to engage. The Krauts won the engagement, and this may be one of those tanks.

That, or I'm an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about.

Nah you're right, the krauts used the T-34's and their diesel engines to try and conceal their Panzers rolling into Soviet territory at night.

It's more likely that it's an m19 anti aircraft vehicle which had the same turret as the m42, I say this mainly because of the the fact that it's in Germany. The m42 duster did not serve in ww2 whereas the m19 did which leads me to believe that is a ww2 wreck. Both vehicles look very similar since they use the same turret design. The main difference being that the m19 is based off the chassis of an m24 Chaffee whereas the m42 was based off the chassis of the m41 walker bulldog, additionally the turret appears to be rear mounted like the m19 whereas the m42 had a more forward mounted turret, I may be wrong however as the vehicle pictured is far from intact.

There's destroyed shit scattered all over Africa. The stuff that was convenient to loot was, but there's a lot still sitting untouched. South Africa, Angola, Namibia, Somalia and other still all have tanks, aircraft, ships and other things laying around rotting.
