Hey about to go debate some banar15 retards. Any one got a spicy good comeback for the "It was only made to kill ppl" ? For some reason saying it is used for versitility, hunting, sport and getting into shooting (.223 is ezpz to handle).

Say, the M16/M4 was made to kill, the AR15 was SPECIFICALLY made as a civilian version.
>>
>>30350127
>Not quoting deaths by cars, hammers, cops, and swimming pools in your argument
>>
>>30350127
I don't get liberals. I stopped arguing with them a long time ago.

Some people just need to be killed. Think that's the reason cops carry um.

Also: i think they're under the impression that if we have enough big brother then everyone lives forever.

>>30350127
False. It was designed to propel a small piece of metal a certain direction.

Just like a car was designed to propel a big piece of metal a certain direction. Guess which kills more?

>spicy good comeback for the "It was only made to kill ppl"
Tell them the army originally despised the ar15 because they thought it was not lethal enough
Eugine Stoner was given a lot of shit by generals for making an allegedly not-lethal gun that did not fire .30 caliber

There is no come back for that. Killing people is the subject of the matter and that's what guns were made for starting with the first Chinese firelances. Once that's acknowledged you can get beyond the weapons and down to figuring out how to actually stop killers. Cain used a fucking rock to start it all off.
>>
>>30350127
Hammers kill more Americans than AR-15s each year and nobody bans hammers.
>>
>>30350127
Armed labor struggles. Battle of Blair Mountain. Ludlow Massacre. Homestead Strike. Look them up.

Sometimes the town monopoly kills the police chief and installs themselves as the new government. People worked as slaves for industrialists until they had enough.

>"It was only made to kill ppl"
Well duh, that's why it's the best thing to use for defense.

ALSO, the argument you have to use on idiots banning AR-15s is that banning them changes literally fucking nothing at all.

Handguns, which cannot be banned because of SCOTUS decisions, will just replace these rifles. And since these rifles function the same as handguns, there will be no change. Banning rifles does nothing.
>>
>>30350127
Guns are designed for killing. That is what they do.

If you argue they aren't made for killing, you'll look like an idiot, because you're being an idiot.

The point is not if a gun is for killing, but why an individual should be allowed to possess this power.

That is your argument.

Oh and spoiler, no matter what you bring to the table, you're going to lose the debate.

Enjoy.
>>
>>30350162
Reverse order, actually. The Ar-15 (well, the Ar-10 and the predecessors to the -15) were made before the M16

Here OP, take a note from Noir.

If "It was designed to kill" is their argument, tell them that such a line of reasoning would allow access to dynamite and the Gatling. The Gatling was created so that a few men could do the job of an entire company so as to keep more men away from the frontlines. Dynamite was created so that it would be a safer alternative to other explosives. Intent of the designer has no bearing on the use of an item by others.

There isn't one, that's not an inaccurate statement about Armalite derivatives and many other firearms. The more general "guns are made to kill" is also not inaccurate.

What you need to do is point out that it doesn't matter. If someone comes at you with "nobody needs a killing machine" then ask why the cops have them.

Cops were early into ARs, cops were early into magnum cartridges, and cops were early into the wonder9 revolution, all for the purposes of self-defense. Cops don't go out and "kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time," but they still feel that they need these guns. Have fun watching your opposition explain why.

While we're at it, here's this: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2012-12-27/how-often-do-we-use-guns-in-self-defense

Even a Bloomberg writer came to the conclusion that, at a conservative estimate, there are roughly 100k defensive shootings in the US annually, and he even states that other people have put the number closer to a quarter million.

Technically correct, but since there aren't really that many Armalite brand Armalites from before Colt took over production just floating around, the term AR-15 has primarily been used for either A) The entire family of firearms in general or B) The semi auto versions commonly available on the civilian market specifically.

Would you prefer OP argue about the convoluted production history or the nontrivial distinction between a proper assault rifle and a rifle that merely looks like one?

Yeah and toasters were just made to put heat in metal coils and clocks to spin around cogs.

There are definitely plenty of guns made with the intended purpose being deadly force against other humans. What's more important is that there's nothing wrong with that at all.
>>
>>30350127
"it was only made to kill people."
Fuckin yoyos used to be weapons. We play with those now.
Also, AND? If you know someone has the capability of easily killing you, you don't fuck with that person. That's why people keep firearms for home defense.
