Anyone in the firearms industry was already prepared for this to be a panic year, or should have been if they weren't. It happens every election year, and with the way this race was going it was already set to be particularly bad.

Add on top of that increasing islam panic, and this shooting was just breath on the coals.

I don't know if we'll see a Sandy Hook level mass panic, but I think the market is going to be tough all year, and well into next depending on how the election goes.

CHF or mandrel forming displaces barrel material into the bore to form the lands.

Button rifling displaces material out of the bore to form the grooves.

Cut rifling removes material from the bore to form the grooves.

There are good and bad barrel rifled with all three processes, the finishing dimensions the manufacturer holds them to on their setup and when air gauging is what separates them.

Functionally, no, there are no real differences.

It used to be that the AR-10 market was extremely difficult, with a bunch of different standards for part dimensions. Recently, it's much better, with almost every manufacturer of ".308 AR" parts building to LR-308 spec.

Stocks, buffer tubes, pistol grips, trigger guards, trigger packs, safeties, etc are all 100% compatible with AR-15 parts for the most part.

Almost everything else can be found in wide variety compatible with the LR-308 pattern, and the result is it's 10x easier to build an AR-10 today than it was 5 years ago. Some anons still think it's like 5-10 years ago, but they're wrong.

For linings/treatments? As a consumer I would just consider chrome lining top dog for wear resistance and nitride as having the best corrosion resistance at a lower production cost.

Nitrided stainless steel is still less wear resistant than 4140 or 4150 chromoly.

A well made chrome lined barrel still has better accuracy potential than most shooters, so don't think that you need the accuracy potential of a nitrided match barrel just to shoot sub-moa.
