What's the consensus on KAC rail covers going on the top rail? Any USMC fags?

I saw where KAC said never to put them on the top because of barrel heat and pain in the ass of removal, but seems like plenty of USMC types said otherwise.

Also these rifles have BCM upgraded extractor spring kits, so relevant.
