Prices haven't been jacked up, and they will go up come election and the aftermath of the shooting.

A basic AR isn't that expensive at all right now, hell you can build a basic AR for under 500 bucks.

Now is the best time to build an AR-15. At least buy a lower receiver or two and then figure out what you want the rest of the rifle to be. AR-10 is still hit or miss on availability and price, but I just bought an upper/lower combo because the lowers keep going out of stack and I don't see it getting any better.
