Last range trip, I finally managed to replicate that Hollywood AR report. You know, the one with a high-pitched park and a metallic plinking sound.

After enjoying the shit out of that for a while, it turned out the reason it was making that sound was because the ejected casings were slamming into the left side of my middy that was locked into the sled to my right. The lower is still covered in little brass marks.

I strip the rifle down and assemble only the lower, upper and handguard after filling in the important bits so they don't get painted (forward assist hole, ejection port, etc.) Then I painted the whole thing OD green, then I cut shapes out of masking tape and put them on the rifle, these areas would stay OD. then I painted a second coat, cut shapes and tape, paint, etc. til all colors are applied.

7.62×39 ARs are bad because they take weird, crappy magazines and special bolts that are weak and break easily.
I don't think 122gr subsonic 7.62×39 exists.
300 BLK exists specifically for this type of application.
Existing 220gr 300 BLK subsonics are only slightly better from a terminal ballistics perspective than .45 ACP.
Running a handguard over a can means that all the heat from the can will radiate/convect straight into the handguard and fry your support hand/whatever support you're shooting off of.
Running a preposterously long handguard over a can will make the whole rifle incredibly frontheavy for no practical reason unless you put a UBR full of buckshot on the back, which will make the whole gun weigh at least 10 lbs empty (which would be bad).
