It was discovered in testing that repeatedly mag dumping in combat situations, caused the polymer to warp over time.

The G36 was a gimmick that had zero reason for being made almost entirely out of polymer.

I havent actually seen half the base weapons in the mod yet ingame, but I know the "AK" base weapon can be modded into quite literally any AK variant / RPK / PSL etc. it's one of the first major weapon mods for 4 at this point and already more complete than some vegas mods that had time to cook up with the actual tools to do so.

No, the G36 was conceived in an era where German politicians where busy repairing Eastern Germany. They had just won the Cold War and foolishly believed there would never be a major war again. A lightweight, and more importantly cheap, polymer rifle for peacekeeping and antiterrorism made complete sense.

Also G36 is fine, as others have pointed out. It was a sham from career enhancing politicians. Nothing more.
