It's not really another religion though. Christian myself here. Yoga and meditation are just mental techniques to calm yourself in preparation for the actual "religious" part.

Moreover, buddhism isn't really consistent with most people's idea of religion. Really it's just a philosophy for suicidal hindus.

The Tactical Edge by Charles Remsburg a 1986 book for LEOs(now available on Amazon) advocates meditation though without the Buddhist woo.
Also don't know why the cops in the picture are wearing armor and duty belts during meditation. Seems rather impractical.
