Why the hell is my 10/22 grouping so shitty at 50 yards?
I know a semi-auto .22 isn't the most accurate thing ever, but I should still expect better than a spread-out 2+ inch group shouldn't I?

Here's it at 20.

What did you expect?
No idea how a 10/22 is supposed to group, or what bench method you used. That could have something to do with it.
But stop using extreme spread. It's a shitty metric. Get a target analysis app for your phone and find the CEP of your group.

are you using bulk ammo? cause that looks perfectly normal with irons and a average shooter.
Well, it's a light profile banded barrel in full contact with the stock, and presumably you're using the garbage-tier flip up leaf sight.
It's a $200 gun. Those are $200 groups.
Buy a nice barrel, a solid free floating stock (not Hogue) and put some sort of optic on it.

Was the flyer the first shot?
Irons or glass?

Magpul stock, 4x Nikon Scope, CCI Mini Mags. Still has the shitty 16.5 inch threaded barrel it came with.
Rested it between the lattice and shot down on the target in the background.

Yes? IDK, I don't remember.

Here's the gun.

>Not shooting from a stable sled or bench
Well there's your problem.
>>30000484
Are you sure you're not getting any parallax effect off the scope when you're shooting?
10/22 is a Barbie doll meme... Should have bought a 795 if you wanted to shoot well...
>>30000497
I don't see how it could've been. It has generous eye relief and the parallax is set at 50 yards.
>>30000484
Get a bipod if you're doing bench shooting
Maybe you're bad at shooting
>>30000073
Do you yell alahu akbar!! At every shot? Ifyou don't, God won't help the bullet go where it's supposed to
I dunno what anon's problem is, but it's not the 10/22. Mine shoots just fine the way I bought it.

The gun

It's because you fucking suck dick at shooting, faggot OP
>>30000466
you want benchrest accuracy? use proper benchrest technique. the importance of a rear bag cannot be understated.

Yes 22lr gets blown around by wind quiet a bit but to be honest in terms of pure mechanical accuracy 22lr might be one of the most accurate round out there.

Dude. Wat. I don't know that I've wat this hard for a couple years

WERD
My Marlin will outshoot my 10/22 all day everyday for half the price.

Were you resting the barrel on the lattice? That would screw up your accuracy.
Even if you were resting the stock on the rest, a lattice isn't exactly a solid, soft, vibration dampening surface. (Like your hand or a sandbag).
Use a proper rest and I bet you will get some improvement at least.
