I like 1911's much more than any glock, but a cheap 1911 wont be your friend. A 1911 will require a bit more work to keep clean and in good working order and if its a cheap one it will have sometimes have quirks.
Shoot both at a range and see what feels better, I like the slim fit of a 1911 and also the fact that it has 2 safeties. The glock is the other end, much more modern and better capacity, but I am still not a fan of polymer.
