IMO there are 2 major differences between nukes and firearms:

1. Nukes have pretty much no application in self defense

2. Detonating them for entertainment would be complicated given that they are very destructive and detrimental to the enviroment for years to come. For instance, my Junior history teacher asked us our opinions in Albert Johnson, to which I immediately replied "crusader of ethnic justice."

Interestingly enough I was elected president of my Senior AP government class, which was about 30 kids and designed to mimic an actual government with extremely small instructor input, I immediately started railroading bills through "congress" which were dozens of pages long with fantastic names and extremely fine print that stated things like "all non-white students must salute white students upon passing them," and "all non-white students must ask a white student for permission to speak to them."

I even got "congress" to sign away their right to overturn my vetoes just by fancy political doublespeak.

I was simultaneously the most hated and most loved. Those who understood the joke loved me because they saw themselves as being "in" on it, while everyone else fucking hated me.

I almost got suspended several times, but all of my instructors made convincing arguments to the admins on my behalf. There were several student petitions to get me expelled, but somehow I kept getting elected to lead random shit just to prove a point. However judicial review and case law means the constitution has no meaning other than what those in power declare it to mean, rather than what the constitution says it means.

The supreme court was intended to decide cases based on constitutional legality. However, lesser courts were not meant to bound to these ruling if they were not in accordance with the constitution. Lesser courts are meant to tell the supreme court to fuck off, not 'yeah I guess case law and feels do trump the literal text of the constitution'. All courts were meant to rule according to the constitution and then laugh at the supreme court for having to deal with an entire nation's worth of appeals because they thought they thought they were higher than the constitution.

The judicial system is the branch with the least checks on it not because the founding fathers trusted government, but because they trusted government to follow the rules for its existence enough to let it exist. The judicial system is checked only by itself, revolution, and kinda sorta congress (and the executive).
