Where do you draw the line on recoil?
For me, it was a .500 NE double rifle.

50bmg upper on a normal ass lower and stock. Nope. Never again .

>tfw strongly considering getting one and attaching an ironwood furniture set
How bad was it?

Some guy brought it to the range and had other people shoot it. I never saw him get behind it. He was a sadist. It was very very bad. 2 people walked away bleeding.

.600 Nitro is the largest I've ever shot, and the recoil can be described as an act of god, or a force of nature. I fired it twice and I couldn't focus my eyes properly for a couple of hours. That being said, I'll happily take a .500/450 Nitro or .500 Nitro in a double for dangerous game.
.458 WinMag is the heaviest I'll go if I'm shooting more than a handful of rounds in a given day.

From the vids I've seen it seems to have stout but managable recoil. I'll just have to shoot it and find out I guess.
Wonder if there are any stock makers that would make a walnut set for a Barret? Here I am getting my mind beyond my money again...

32g magnum slug
>Prone
.50BMG, or any rifle doesn't came anywhere near the discomfort. (thanks to muzzle devices and padded butt plates)

Unless they don't have those things. See >>29932572

You definitely want some recoil compensation. There is a reason barretts function the way that they do.
Ive shot .600 overkill and .50-140 the .50-140 sharps was stiffer but nothing that cant be managed by an experienced shooter.

Winchester model 12 trench gun with stock hard rubber 1/2 inch pad shooting 3in 12ga magnum shells.
Im not recoil sensitive, but i can only shoot about 8 shots before i get nerve pain and arm starts to shake.
>12ga 3 1/2" turkey maximum load (2 1/4oz, or 985 grains) at 1300ft/s
>7lbs shotgun
According to recoil calculators, it kicked with more ft-lbs and ft/s than a 458 Lott.
Still wasn't enough, ran out of ammo before feeling shoulder pain.
>45-70 hot-load 500gr@1800ft/s
>45-70 hot-load 400gr@2050ft/s
>7.5lbs rifle, 18.5" barrel, wood stock with a steel buttplate
Ran out of ammo shooting from bench and prone (only had 35 rounds of each)
Still not enough.
So /k/ how do I get something that kicks enough to satisfy me?
