a question to any amerilard, do you really think you have a single chance againts your own country army?
>>
>>29795909
Probably.
>>
Here's hoping
>>
Do a bunch of goat-fucking guerillas in the desert have a chance against our country's army?

Yes. Anyone who says no doesn't understand how the war on terror has actually unfolded.
>>
>>29795909
More than you have against yours.

>>29795909
Idk, what's it like already knowing your cuck ancestors sold you out?

Nah. Government control of the media and financial sectors, combined with international treaties has made it impossible. There is too much vested interest in maintaining the status quo.
>>
>>29795909
People fail to realize that military members are people too, and we all pledged to defend against both foreign and domestic enemies... enemies to our Constitution. I got on this subject with some of the guys in my reserve unit, (I can't go active until I finish my senior year in high school. Joined in my junior year once I turned 18.), and none of them would feel comfortable fighting a rebellious group of US citizens, and every one of them agreed that they would go against the gov't if an all out gun ban/confiscation were to happen. (It never will, though. The gov't will slowly bleed our gun community until it no longer has enough supporters to keep it alive, then they will slowly filter weapons out of law-abiding hands.)
>>
>>29796067
I'm active duty. Have been for 3 years. You think we would kill our mothers and fathers? You think our brothers and sisters don't come first? Why fight US citizens if that's who we joined to protect. If the government gave us an order to attack good folk, you don't think we would say fuck that? Shit I'd put a Bullet in obummer well befor I thought of harming a member of the general population.

Yes because it is the police's job to face civil unrest. It is the military's job to defend against foreigners.

We ARE our own country's Army, numb nuts. If we stand up against the government, the military will mostly be with us.
>>
All I have to do is say "Anee amrikayee" with my hands up and they'll all be like, "BRUUUUUUUUUH!" I'll smile and say "BROOOOOOUUUUUUTHER." And then they'll again be like "BRUUUUUUUUUUH." They'll ask me, "You like Jean Claude Van Dam bro?" And I'll be like "Oh hell yes my brouther Van Dam!! and Contaliza Rice very HOT! YES!!" My own country army guys will then bring me over to their HMMV, show me off to the other guys while saying "Hey bruh say it again! The thing about the stuff!" I'll do the cool guy thumbs a lot, they'll put me up in the turretlet me ride as up gunner, shooting down my own kind in the streets of Rte Michigain in Michigain. Bad ass.

Hi, FBI

I don't think you quite understand how guerilla warfare works. Sure, the US military has access to the most powerful arsenal in the world, but F-16s and drones can hardly carry out counter-insurgency operations. Plus, I'm fairly sure the operators of said F-16s and drones would have quite a few problems with turning their weapons on the American populace.
>>
>>29795909
I don't have the screencap on my phone, but an anon posted that the government has wargamed a second U.S. Civil War. I can't remember the entire thing, but I'll try and remember the high points of the things they discovered by red-bluing the scenario.

1. The U.S. power grid, with the exception of Texas, is a cobbled together hash of outdated systems. 80% of the power grid could be shut down by about ten people with deer rifles and mediocre marksmanship. There are weak points throughout the system. Disable any of them, and it creates a cascade failure. Because of multiple weak points, there is no way to effectively guard against this.

2. In the advent of a Second American Civil War, anywhere between 50% to 75% of the military and members of the Alphabet agencies would defect in the advent of a totalitarian administration taking control.

3.Infrastructure. over the last four decades, U.S. infrastructure has been badly neglected. The DOT jokes the entire thing is held together by prayers and duct tape, and some days they don't have enough duct tape. During a Civil War, the already minimal maintenance would stop and within a month the infrastructure, roads and bridges, water systems, the surviving power grid, would all begin to fail.

4. Geography. The U.S. Geography would make fighting Hell for the government.

5.Production. Blue States and counties produce, Red States and counties consume. In all out Civil War, the major cities would begin to starve in a matter of months.

There was more, but I can't remember all of it.
>>

>Blue States and counties produce, Red States and counties consume.

We are still talking about the USA, right?
>>
>>29799493
I did, sorry. Reds produce, blues consume. There was more, but I don't remember. The key points was that once an American Civil War gets rolling, it would be the end of the United States as we now know it.
>>
>>29799253
>1. Fuck the power grid
Which is going to fuck over civilians infintely worse than the military.
>2. 50% to 75% of the military and members of the alphabet agencies would defect
[citation needed]
>3.Infrastructure would be bad
Military can deal with this, surpisingly.
>4 US Geography would make fighting Hell for the government
Geography that they would be infintely familiar with.
>5. blah blah cities would starve, farms are self sufficient!
Not any more, a large, commercially viable farm requires plenty of stuff that you can't just make. Our modern society is incredibly specialised, even a tiny bit failing effects everything. Good luck growing enough to feed the rural areas without gas or agro-chemicals.

>>
>>29795950
Yeah, thats when they are forced to pull punches because of a watchful international eye. If the country went into full civil war, all gloves are off. You could expect all manner of terrible weapons and tactics being used on you.

The only way to win, would be if some large part of the military seceded to your cause. Then, you'd have to deal with the massively daunting task of training the rest of your men.

Maybe some country like Russia, that is sympathetic to your cause, would lend a hand. But, I'm sure that would come with a cost and negate any chances of true sovereignty.

It wouldn't be easy.
>>
>>29799865

Power grid goes down. Tv gone, internet gone. Heat and air conditioning gone. Refrigeration and perishable food gone in days. Entire northeastern seaboard goes into full campout mode. Nasty Gaurd and police forces overwhelmed in days.

Defection estimates assume a totalitarian administration has declared full martial law. Internal surveys reveal that, unsurprisingly, the type of people who seek a career in government service take their oath to defend the Constitution, not the government, not the president, the Constitution, seriously.

The infrastructure is vital to military movement within the U.S. it was the primary reason for building the Interstate highway system. It is also vital to feeding the ever growing cities. The military cannot rebuild infrastructure and fight an internal war at the same time.

>>29800000 handles the geography question nicely.

I know from personal experience that without the pressure of feeding the big cities, rural families could feed themselves. All you need is an acre or two and the basic knowledge to preserve your food. The truth is the urban areas need the food production of the rural areas. The rural areas can get by without the cities. Life would be harder, but not impossible.
>>29799936
Once the federal government resorted to using full military force against its citizens, the U.S. as we know it would cease to exist. Foreign actors, like Russia or China would jump at the chance to side with the "poor downtrodden citizens" to see the U.S. power broken. Large defections from the U.S. military, experienced combat vets and foreign special forces would form the core cadre to train the rebellion. Defectors would take equipment with them as well.

It would be long, drawn out and ugly. One only has to look at Beirut in the 80's or Sarajevo during the 90's to see what the great cities of the U.S. would look like as power and infrastructure failed and food stopped coming in.
>>
Some anon did the math, I'll try to remember it.
1% of our population is military. If we had just 5% of our armed population, against 100% of the military (which is incredibly unlikely, servicemen would defect), they'd be outnumbered by like 3-1. Destroying convoys wouldn't be too hard, just do the human wave. And jets, missiles, and artillery wouldn't be used on urban targets, no way.
>>
>>29800000
>3,119,885 square miles of territory
And how much of that has any use? I'm sure the government isn't going to bother taking the time and effort to re-take the useless woods/swamps/mountains you all flee to.

150 million (legal) gun owners versus less than a million members of the military, only about a tenth of which fight. So, yeah. Also, most of the military would probably fight for the people.
>>
>>29800556
Are you willing to commit such war crimes? Could you live with yourself knowing you killed thousands of E2s who literally died from crushed motivation?
>>
>>29800449
Yes, because a country would do just fine if 3/4 of the territory is out of government control.

By your logic the Syrian government is doing just fine without any help because they don't have to retake the useless deserts and mountains that ISIS, Kurds, FSA and Al-Nusra are occupying.
>>
our military happens to be full of americans believe it or not, most of which are heavily dissatisfied with or apathetic to the president. that number will shift massively if the fed begins killing their freinds back home or threatening the use of any real military force. because they are the military force that would recieve the order to go home and kill their family.

American citizens, militant or otherwise actually do matter on a large scale, seeing as we fund and make up our own government.

there would still be blood but the total halting of any and all american commerce for more than a couple days would be far beyond what the fed would be willing to risk. not only would the nation be on strike, they'd be shooting at you.

OP, American Soldiers are.... American

When I was in we had conversations discussing these hypotheticals, consensus was we don't want to shoot our neighbors.

Americans join the military to go shoot Ahmed across the world, not bob down the street.

Nearly positive there would be mass-desertions in the case of a civil war.
>>
Oh look, this thread again.
>>
If it happens, it will happen on a state-by-state basis, just like the last civil war. Any rift in our country will stem from politics, and US political beliefs are highly correlated to geographic location. People will stick with their neighbors, it's really as simple as that.

At that point, it just matters which states decide to leave.

For instance, if the south goes again without Texas and Florida (which, Texas and FL aren't fucking teaming up with those fucking swamp hooligans in Alabama/Miss/Lou/etc), nobody will give a hot shit. We'll crush them because whatever, there's very little of value there anyway.

EXCEPT if Texas tries to use political discourse to achieve the independence it has always secretly wanted, which they very well might do.

In another instance, say a faction takes the entirety of the east coast. Cali, Hawaii, and the rest of the west coast will go the other way. At that point, you will have some serious bullshit on your hands for the next 100 years.
>>
>>29800710
There is a decided portion of the military, particularly in the Officer Corps, that is utterly removed from civil society. I am talking about people who literally cannot function without a dose of Hooah in the morning with their coffee, before they take Johnny (USMA2029) to school on-base.

They don't live in the same America as the rest of us. They don't have family back home, though Daddy probably works as a consultant out of DC or something. A revolution would destroy their entire livelihood and I know some who would go to any legths to prevent that from happening.

Really, who really wants to be that guy. Police, govt. Official, military etc who would go home to home for confiscation or attack.

Being in the Army back in 2011 I couldn't see anyone I knew including myself who would fight our own ppl.
Maybe that's why the US has troops from other countries training here idk.

There's a very small percentage of autists who would "b-but just following much orduhs"

If even 1% of the armed populace stood up to the US government, the government would be outnumbered nearly 3:1

This also reasons that literally every person in the US government was given a weapon, made to fight, and was willing to kill for aforementioned government entities.

So, yes, I do believe that the People have a chance against the government. A great chance.
