Na, it was just one of those shitty Bulgarian bullet pattern mags. It was the end of the day and it was starting to rain so I just grabbed the closest one.

I do have a drum, I've only emptied it twice. First time was rapid fire, it failed to feed the last 4-5 rounds. Probably didn't wind it enough.
2nd time was an attempted bumpfire, it was slower than the one today and also had two jams. Don't know why it jammed but I'm guessing it was due to the ATF party mix I had it loaded with (FMJ/HP/SP)

Yeah, they're both rear loaders.
Got it from a friend of a friend.
Paid more than I cared to, but I've been wanting one for awhile, so I said fuck it.

I have a pair of top loader romys as well.
They're cool, but a pain to load compared to rear loaders.
>>
>>29636109
Chrome lining is to protect against shitty corrosive ammo. The accuracy difference is going to be tiny (when comparing barrels of equal quality otherwise)

It's not a big deal either way, just clean more thoroughly.

You're not going to get an appreciable difference in accuracy with that M70 compared to a WASR. The corrosion resistance and barrel life would be a much more important factor.

Doesn't matter if it's not what its meant for, the yugo still has a better barrel regardless of that.

Heres a SBR going more, the short barrel= less heat dissipation so it's fighting a uphill battle with heat and still beat the POS wasr.

so they are as much a M70 as anything.

The OPAP is a parts kit on a new receiver and barrel.

Arsenal is the most cost-effective way to get a proper side-folder. They run smoother out of the box.

Their factory trigger is also fucking garbage and Hoppes will take the finish off. Also plenty of examples of people understandably pissed off with spending more than a grand on a rifle with canted sights.

Personally I don't care for the look of a 90° gas block or polymer furniture on a 7.62x39 rifle, but love the triangle folder.

Yet again you have no idea what you're talking about you fucking piece of shit. RPK's don't have the dimple because they have a bulged front trunnion and a thicker receiver so there is no need. Standard AK's have a receiver 2/3 as thick and without a bulged trunnion so they have that dimple to reinforce that part of the stamped receiver.

Okay, and? I've read that thread probably a dozen times since it was first posted months ago. Hell the OP of that thread never provided any proof anyway. My point was that the NPAP failed because it's a piece of shit built with shit steel. The WASR is pretty much perfect except for the lack of dimples which help prevent twisting and deformation.

Steel mags will last literally forever, unless you go drop them in the ocean for a few months, then they will only last for your lifetime. over 2/3rds of the bakelite mags stateside are older 2nd gen without metal lined feedlips, and will not last very long, and polymer mags get really flexible in the sun and extremely brittle in the cold. suck it faggit.

>>29636751
non-CL barrels will wear out quick, especially with steel-jacketed ammo, which basically all 7.62x39 is.

That about for Tokarevs? A store near me has a Zastava Tokarev TT33 that has a variation of manual thumb safety I've never seen before--it's a folded and rolled piece of sheet metal in a 1911ish position. It's rough as a cob and it feels like the recoil spring has been beat to fuck but the rifling and crown look good and the price is right.

To be honest, family, I've seen more than a few used Arsenals with the paint wiped right off them.

Now, it's not a tremendously difficult task to pick up a can of Rustoleum matte black BBQ grill paint and paint them black again.

But I think it's happened to more than one guy, once. Xylene's a nonpolar solvent--which gun cleaners are full of. See also, acetone. See also, petroleum distillates.

it doesnt matter. Unless its a steel triangle stock, you are better off getting a fixed stock for durability.

>>29640243
I dont trust Tok's. It is literally a wild gun that can go off at any time. import safety's dont help it none either, as they tend to fuck it up more. Most people buy the one with the trigger safety, so they can remove it and it will be like a real tok, but with a hole in the side of it.

I can't tell without being able to see the other side, but I don't think it folds. Some of their Saigas are now being made with detachable stocks that use the folding stock trunnion, but don't fold, just detach. Which is still useful for storage and transportation. Legion had some like that, except with plastic stocks instead of wood.

I really find myself wanting a modern polymer sidearm, though, and have narrowed my choices to a Glock 17 or an M&P in either .40 or 9mm. I'm looking for a good deal on any of the above, probably used.

More like 6-7lbs. Not bad at all.

>What drum do you find most reliable?
I've had no issues with any drums, so they're all equally reliable. But I prefer rear loaders because ease of loading.

>I heard open-back ones are not that great, while the top-loaders will have springs break if you leave them wound up or turn them more than one click past where you supposed to

The top loaders are always tensioned, so you can't "overwind" them.
But I have heard about the spring breaking if they're left loaded too, hasn't happened to me yet though.
The issues with rear loaders being "unreliable" is almost always user error.
People under-winding them and getting feeding issues.
They think 4 turns mean to just wind it 4 times, when it really means 4 full rotations of the winding key.
Which is about 8-10 times.
>>
>>29640981
The Bulgarian polymer mags with the waffle-y sides and the metal reinforced feed lips and locking lugs are also said to be very good.

I have heard that the Yugo BHO mags are the very best, in terms of quality control, and so on, but the Polish mags that AIM Surplus is currently blowing out for $10/each in quantity are probably just about as good.

Finn polymer mags are very hard to find in the US. Polymer mags other than Bulgy waffles are generally regarded as crap. The Korean steel mags have something wrong with the follower or the feed lips--for some reason the follower doesn't rise quite far enough and there are feed problems with the last few rounds, though supposedly with a file and a lot of work you can alter them and make the follower rise further. But they cost the same as the real deal steel mags mostly, so what's the point, and how much is your time worth?
>>
>>29641064
I've read some less than stellar reviews of those Polish mags from AIM. I guess they're factory refurbished and the paint they slapped on them is too thick in places and needs filing before they insert properly.

But hey, like you said it's a ten buck mag.
>>
>>29641064
>black Finn polymer mags are very hard to find in the US.
Ftfy.
The OD green finnish mags are fairly easy to find here.
The current lot of polish mags AIM has have been repainted, and people are reporting that it's inconsistently thick.
Some will fit fine, others won't fit in any rifle without scraping the paint off the tops.
Copes has Yugo BHOs for $13.
I'd rather spend the $3 extra, personally.
