Yeah, but they don't. the M230 30mm chaingun the apache uses is low velocity. It would not benefit from DU rounds. It's really a trumped up grenade launcher.

Well with a chain-gun if a round doesn't fire it gets ejected anyways. Yes because the electric motor works the mechanism, not the recoil or gas pressure of the round being fire. Same with multi-barrel guns like a GAU. It doesn't matter if a round fails.
