You should get a .17HMR. Not super cheap like .22LR but it can often be found for $12 for 50 and its quite the potent little varmint cartridge. Can still be found regularly anywhere and everywhere.
>>29553255
I'm getting 9mm mak for that. Don't tell me you shop in stores.
>>29552951
www.ammoseek.com Jesus fuck dude. Even monkeys can use Google.

I have to. Shipping ammunition to Alaska is a no-go. I can have it sent to a freight carrier who will ship it by boat up here but then I'm in way more than just buying it locally.
>>29552951
might as well just start on an AR15 since it has .22 recoil
picked up 325 rounds for $20 at my lgs. It's not hard to find 22 and it's not expensive.
There's plenty of .22 around here.
I've got like 1000 rounds of the shit and I'm not even trying.
bumping for based tay tay
Does Alaska have armslist?
I do ammo trades on A-L all the time. Maybe someone wants to unload their stockpile.
>>29552951
.22 has been a meme for four years
>>29552951
Yeah I just bought 1000 rounds of .22 and prices have gone down.
>having checked local stores for .22lr for over a year since it was always a lost cause
>check Academy just because I was next door
>$18 325rd packs of Federal Automatch
>$30 500rd bricks of Remington Golden Turds
>mfw
I'm back up to 8k rounds of .22lr
>>29552951
Just get 9mm then, they're basically the same thing, they're both weak rounds that can't hurt anything
>>29558415
and here comes the autism brigade.

where is this still a thing .22 is readily available and cheap
>ten months into the great Drought of 22
>shelves that have laid empty for almost a year have begun to collect dust
>look on them with sadness as they're surrounded by full, vibrant, constantly restocked boxes of 5.56
>"Dirty military monkeys. Why do they need their assault weapon ammo"
>look over at all the .22 rifles stacked on the wall of Gander Mountain
>"Don't worry, sweet babies. Your masters will come for you again one day. You're all we true sportsmen need."
>fudd senses tingle
>see something scrawny ruffling around in the fake bushes stapled to heavy coats
>it's a Gander Mountain employee
>pale as a ghost and looks like he hasn't eaten in a week
>see it's clutching something in its hand
>twirl by scraggly dark grey and white mustache as I catch a glimmer of the brass
>it's a rare shiny box of .22lr
>heart starts racing like when I saw my wife naked for the first time back in 1965
>begins moving towards the shelf
>see a black hat with a number 3 on it moving behind some rifle cabinets towards the empty 22 shelves
>"No one goes there anymore. Wait, he saw the box!"
>Make my way to the shelves
>the three of us meet
>Mexican standoff
>[muffled wah wah wah playing in the distance]
>he's a big boy. Three chins, a red shirt that shows off a hairy belly that's barely seen the sun
>"The box is mine, old man. Imma sell it online."
>scrawny employee's eyes are bulging, he's heaving and looking back and forth between us like a rabbit between a coyote and a fox
>"I'll give it to you if you can answer my question."
>"Ok, grandpa. I'll play your game."
>"What can .22s kill under fifty yards?"
>"Well shit, you done lost now. Small game like rabbits and vermin like groundhogs and squirrel. Maybe a coyote if you're lucky."
>I grin wickedly. "Wrong, boy. A .22 can kill anything under fifty yards."
>fattie dies from fuddlore overdose and autism spazzing while I take the box and leave
>a spaghetti western revolver shot can be heard as I look back holding my prize in my hand
>>29552951
>Owning a 22 over a 9mm
