Why does new ammo usually come scratched/dented?
Granted, I usually buy cheapo stuff like blazer, but even these federal HST are pretty scratched up.
Machining, storage, jostling?
I have a better question, what's the deal with these pictures? Are some cartridges really squared-off like this? Haven't seen any in real life or in video so I'm guessing it's a trick of the light but you never know.

Good choice for a pistol, shame they gave you the inferior version though.

Wait until you buy federal 5.56

bump

It looks like a reflection on the case rather than it being squared off.
>dented
that's bad
>scratched
Who the fuck cares, you are supposed to shoot it.

In the several thousand rounds I've had of Federal 5.56, I have yet to run into any issues.
The worst experience I've had with any ammo was PMC Bronze 9mm. The bullets were literally just falling out of the casing.

Are we talking American Eagle? Yeah shit's a little sketchy, but no problems yet
I'm wondering why the .223 would be cleaner than the 5.56...and whether I should start buying that instead

he's saying m2's are worse then m1's. and he's right.
Did they change the HST projectile? I don't think mine look like that... Those look more like hornady projectiles... Worst brass I've got was the m80 ball lake city stuff... It was disgusting...

I'd post a picture of my PPQ and my keyboard, but my keyboard is disgusting.

>Why does new ammo usually come scratched/dented?
Because it's made in a factory, in bulk, being dropped into bins & whatnot from time to time.
It shouldn't be dented though, and if it is, that's just the price of buying the cheapest of the cheap. Just don't shoot that round.
