I want to build a light as possible AR, but I also want it to survive thousands of rounds. So I'm looking at stripped lowers - theyre pretty much all the same weight other than the polymers and super special expensive ones. Are the polymer ones even worth looking at? And does it really matter what brand you get for metal ones?

https://www.battlearmsdevelopment.com/bad556-lw-lightweight-7075-t6-billet-lower-receiver-set
The battle arms upper and lower are marginally lighter than standard, if you care enough to pay for it.
It's probably a 4oz difference between the BAD receivers and standard. Normal forged lower is ~8.7oz and the BAD is 6.8oz.

I honestly, don't know enough about the Warcomp to give an opinion on it.
QD scope mount is always a good option imo. I actually take mine off and dunk my whole upper in a sonic cleaner sometimes.
No irons are actually becoming more and more acceptable to me. Will probably eventually stop giving a shit about irons and not put them on future builds.
Lower isn't all that gucci or anything. Over branding is fine, especially because I personally like the look of their rollmark

>>29381982
The Warcomp is worse at recoil reduction than the SOCOM while being almost as long, more expensive, and louder. Does somewhat better at flash suppression, which is 100% useless to anybody not owning gen3+ NODs (which even if he did that setup wouldn't work with). Plus it doesn't work as a suppressor attachment, unlike the SOCOM (not that a Surefire SOCOM can is really all that good compared to newer cans these days).

A QD scope mount is fine with irons. A no-irons build is fine. My issue is there are lighter, stronger, cheaper non-QD mounts for those who don't want irons that are even better at repeatable zeros for removal.

Different yes, worse I believe if the RRA is about to lose stage 1. That's it's primary fault, stage 1 fedexs itself to guam at some point and you've got to send it back. The big G is better, but it's not $140 better unless you can't afford stage 1 to show up missing at a match you spent money to get to.

I like mine, I'm happy I bought it but there are a number of triggers that get it 90% right for about 1/3 the cost.

I'm thinking about giving my Browning Hi Power a bit of a facelift. So I ordered some Trijicon Night Sights, some VZ Grips and I'm going to have it Cerakoted to march my future AR cerakote.

I'm thinking Tungsten on the frame and Armorer Black on the slide and controls. I will cerakote my AR on the handguard, upper, and lower Tungsten and leave everything else black. Any critiques k?

BOLTERING INTENSIFIES

Also known as
>Holding this abomination fills you with DETERMINATION

Also, apparently the LPK I had on hand was incomplete. Missing the bolt catch, mag release, and selector (which I was going to replace anyway). Probably explains why it was in my spare parts bin and not in a rifle.

Have a BAD 45* selector, chinkshit gas block and gas tube, and GI barrel nut on the way. Don't know whether to order a Cryptic and steal a NiB BCG out of one of my good rifles or order a stripped carrier (have a spare firing pin, clevis, and JP Enhanced Bolt on hand).

Only thing I should have left to buy is whichever bolt/BCG I decide on and a barrel extension. Then I just need to turn the barrel, which I should have done either Saturday or Sunday night.

Good luck. You are only going to find people's "custom" ARs with shit parts and shit craftsmanship. I suggest building your lower and buying a complete uppper. I know Rainier Arms and Weapon Outfitters have an upper assembly service from the parts in your cart, if you want to go that route..

I've got a Del-ton lightweight 20", which I'm pretty sure is the correct profile.
http://www.del-ton.com/Del_Ton_Inc_Barrels_p/bl1028.htm

Otherwise if you don't mind the QPQ finish on the faxon barrels their gunner profile 20" looks similar to the A1 profile.
I guess it depends on how accurate you're wanting it to be.

Hey guys I have a question.

A while ago built aa 20 inch ar15 rifle length gas and a2 stock.

It's a tackdriver and fun to shoot with bench but honestly not at all the correct size for me.

Any idea what ar15 upper and stock length setting would be ideal for me if hi-point carbine feels super comfy to me?

Its like the perfect fit (except the mag release) for my short arms. I love being able to comfortably shoot it without straining offhand. Very well balanced too.

This is not a troll post I really am looking for advice on upper length. Would you guys recommend low profile or a2 gas block? Carbine or Midlength?
