Is 32 dollars a good deal for a 6 inch ar500 gong with mounting stuff (chain, nuts, bolts etc.)?
>>
>>29254472
Yes.
>>
Is potential loss of $32 really enough to warrant a thread on /k/?
>>
>>29254507
I'm really cheap

Speaking of which

Is there a way to mount this to a tree stump?
>>
>>29254472
Thats a pack of gas a tank of smokes and a couple sodas. But its reusable.
>>
>>29254523
Bolts, chains, goddamn super glue
>>
>>29254523
A couple 8 inch lag bolts would work.
Just make sure to angle the plate so ricochets go into the dirt. The plate is bullet proof so the bullets/shards have to go somewhere.
>>
>>29254523
I used a 20 dollar folding sawhorse and two U-bolts. Mounting to a tree stump would be easiest with a good hammer, a drill, and a length of rebar.
>>
>>29254551
>>29254554
The one I get has a mounting kit with it which is bolts, nuts and chains, and it is created in such a way that mounting by the chains angles the plate down perfectly, so id prefer to do that.
>>
>>29254523
How tall is the stump?

>>
>>29254523
Bolts.
>>
>>29254569
Like 3 feet maybe
>>
Just ordered the gong but now I have got to figure out a good way to do this.

I want the chains hanging the gong in front of the stump
>>
>>29254586
Be advised that the tree stump is going to bite the dust eventually. Especially if you use expanding ammunition.

>t. guy that likes to shoot logs because paying money for real targets gets expensive

I split an 8" log in half on the second shot with soft tip 7.62x39.

How wide is the stump?

What I'm thinking is you nail a couple of short 2x4s parallel to the side of the stump, and run your chains off those. Included is a poor mspaint version of my idea.
>>
>>29254634
Right now I only have a .22

>>29254677
I think that would work but I might just plant it in front of the stump and not mount it on the stump

Maybe I'll put a wood plank behind the stump then put another wood beam over the stump and hang the ar500 in front of the stump

just buy a shepards hook m8
>>
>>29254723
So simple

I didn't think of that

My target does have 2 mounting holes tho and how does that withstand bullets?

Buy two.
>>
>>29254864
They don't. If the pole just gets bent up, no biggie. But be advised you will probably shoot it in half at some point. Sooner rather than later if you go bigger than .22.

Same goes for any way you'll mount it though. Best way to avoid that is to not miss.

Pretty meh
Bolts and chain is cheap if you have a real hardware store and not something big box
Proper hardware stores will sell by the foot and by the piece where as stuff like Menards or whatever you have sells overpriced pre-packed stuff

Also this is 1/2 inch, so it stands up to nearly anything except magnums and AP

>>29255653
>Shipping is a flat rate $14.99 charge which means if you order 1 or 1,000 of any of our targets you get the same low flat rate shipping rate.
>>
>>29255522
they had two versions at homedepot, some round cheap looking hook and a square wrought iron looking one that cost more. I got the cheap one and it didn't last one outing against .223. Just make a cheap pvc/lumber post
>>
DUDE THAT'S A REASONABLE DEAL.

If you want a better deal you'd spend that much money in time searching for one.

Buy a dozen, gib to friends.

>implying you have friends
>>
>>29258344
I just bought 1

Make sure to use just enough chain to swing, but not go over the bar... I learned that lesson by having to go flip it back over after every hit when I first set mine up...
>>
>>29258406
It was shootingtargets7 with code SLICKGUNS, picked out the 6 inch 1/2" gong and the mounting kit.
>>
>>29254507
it's a gun related question so kindly leave this place and go back to your /ak/ and plane threads
