What is /k/'s opinion on the H&K USP9? I picked mine up last month and have put about 1,000 rounds through it so far.

A very good gun. I really don't give much of a shit about HK's guns personally but the USP line is one of their best.
>>
USP's are great guns.
>>
>>29212929
If you're going to get a USP, go for the .45
>>
>>29212929
Pretty good if you want a full size but I would get a USPC in 9mm instead.
>>
>>29212953
>>29213008
I'm glad to hear that; I had some misfires on the first shoot, but I attribute that to the factory grease. I gave it a good clean on Sunday, and I'm planning on taking it out to the desert on the weekend.
>>
>9mm

The .40 is the real deal. 9mm just doesn't feel right for what it is.
>>
>>29213026
I'm about 6'4 and 250lbs, so the reg fits just right for me, but I can get wanting the compact
>>
Inferior to the greatness that is a Cz.
>>
>>29212929
Great guns. I own three USP Compacts because they just melt into my hand. The full size one is rated for +P ammo and has a really cool recoil buffer system that really does reduce felt recoil. Unfortunately, the full size guns don't really fit my hands that well - the grips are too fat and the trigger reach is too long in double action.

>>29213016
>If you're going to get a USP, go for the .45
Just curious, but why? I have nothing against .45 ACP and don't want to start a caliber war, but you get more capacity with .40S&W or 9mm. What does .45 bring to the table in the USP platform that the other two calibers don't?
>>
>>29213051
I picked the 9mm because the cost between the 9mm and .40 rounds weren't worth the negligable difference in stopping power.

Interesting my USP did the same.
>>

>would get a USPC in 9mm instead.
Only reason to do this is shootability. The USPC in .40 only has one fewer round than the USPC in 9mm. Seems like a no-brainer to go with the heavier bullet.
>>
>>29213123
>>29213040
Heh. My 9mm USP Compact jammed on the first shot I ever took with it, then it never did it again - and I was shooting 124 grain (albeit standard pressure) ammo. Never had an issue with my .40 caliber USP Compact.

that's retarded. they started as .40 guns
the rule of 9mm blows 45 and 40 out of the water still applies

They're a pretty premium pistol really, definitely not cheap but in all honesty I think they're actually worth the money for what you get.

How big do your hands have to be that you need to put an extra grip sleeve over a Mark 23's grip?
>>
>>29213051
I feel the same way. It's such a big gun (4u) and the slide is pretty hefty, so any 'muh recoil' argument goes into the trash. Combine that with the fact that it's got better chamber support in the .40 than even the 9mm and that dual recoil spring and the thing feels damn near indestructible because it's so overbuilt.
>>
>>29213436
big enough that I wear XL latex gloves in the lab
that and when I CC it the grip knurl irritates my hip
>>
>>29213397
That's cool. Didn't know Shaq posted on /k/...

I love mine, but the grip is little too big for my manlet hand.

And the .45 one fewer than that. Pretty great capacity for a .45 pistol.
>>
>>29213108
>If you're going to get a USP, go for the .45
Different anon here. The USP 45 is preferable to some thanks to its appearance in Counter Strike. I have a USP9c and love it, but believe me when I say the USP45 Tactical is high on my list of future purchases.

That and it's a fantastic pistol to boot.
>>
>>29213108
Your not really taking full advantage of the recoil system with the 9mm models. It's such a soft shooter in .45, noticeably more so than most other .45 pistols.

Also 15 rds in a full size 9mm isn't that great. But 12 rounds in a full size .45 is pretty good.
>>
I was thinking of getting a Mark 23 or USP45T, but is there any decent modern day LAM you can get for them? Or are there any decent lasers with a picatinny rail/ mounting system underneath to attach a light?
>>
>>29213016
nope.
>>
>>29214853
you failed to name a single reason why the USP45 is preferable to a USP9.
>>
>>29212929
I love my USPc. It's a 9mm and I use it for CC.
>>
>>29214980
I did, and I didn't.
>>
I was a Glock fan with some other leanings until I got a USP45. It's now my favorite 45.
>>
Opinions on the USP Elite? I´d use it mostly for range shooting and competitions.
>>
>>29212929
Serious question.
I'm looking for a new handgun however I've only owned CZ's so far and the USP has been a dream ever since MGS2.

How is the grip size and trigger reach? My fingers are kind of short. I can shoot the CZ in SA very comfortably, but the DA is a little bit too long for me to get a nice grip. Is the HK's trigger further away in addition to the fatter grip?

I know I could just carry cocked and locked, but I also want to shoot IPSC production at some point.
>>
>>29217765
I have shorter fingers. For reference, I can handle a CZ 75 DA trigger from half-cock, but from full decock, I have to shift my finger on the trigger face through the pull. The full size USP's grip feels a bit larger and the trigger reach a bit longer than the CZ 75 from half-cock. The USP Compact is a little on the smaller, shorter trigger reach side from the CZ 75.
>>
>>29217912
Sounds like the USPC might be the way to go then. I think my LGS had a USP40 behind the glass, I'll go see if it's still there.
>>
>>29212929
Perfectly good gun. As long as you don't mind the slightly high magazine prices it's good to go. And I say slightly high since you can get them for about 40 bucks, whereas it's not uncommon for pistol mags to run around 30 each.

USP 45 mags are like 50-70 bucks each. Now THAT hurts.
>>29213016
I actually had one and didn't like it, but I could tell it was because of the caliber and not the gun itself. Also, like I mentioned, fuckspensive magazines.
>>
Get USP. Install match trigger. If you don't like the double action reach get the detent plate to make it single action only for cocked and locked carry.
>>
>>29212929
Mine suffers from weak ejection occasionally. My .40 USP doesn't. I'll sort it out at some point.

The .40 USP with an LEM trigger is the gun I've finally settled on after years of experimentation, it just works for me.
>>
Welp, went to the gun shop, felt a USP 40. Turns out they just got a USP9 in.

Guess I'm a HK USP owner now.
>>
>>29218393
Post pictures.
>>
I want an HK P30L
Guess why
>>
>>29218628

Because it's a nice gun and also because John Wick.
>>
>>29218969
Bingo
Shame the comp was custom
>>
>>29218996

Could always have one made. I'm guessing Taran Tactical made his.

Also muh Expert because reasons.
